New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye admittedly feels comfortable with his offensive line replacements, following injuries to left tackle Will Campbell and left guard Jared Wilson.

Vederian Lowe and Ben Brown are expected to start in place of the injured rookies.

Lowe started in 13 games at left tackle last season, playing in 14 total. Brown started in 10 games at the center position for the organization last year, taking over for the injured David Andrews. He was placed on injured reserve for the final two games of the season after serving a pivotal role on the offensive line.

“All those reps we got last year, those are gonna pay off in game reps," Maye said on WEEI Afternoons. "They have been good at practice. [They’ve] made me comfortable when they do get reps in practice in the pocket. That’s the biggest thing I tell them, ‘I trust you guys.’ I've got full faith in them. I think they've done a nice job, and they're going to continue to do a nice job."

It's a unique twist to have so much trepidation over veterans starting in place of rookies, but that goes to show how well Campbell and Wilson have performed in their first NFL season.

Both Lowe and Brown have big shoes to fill in the most important stretch of the season.
