The Huskers offense is functioning fairly well in the wintry conditions and lead the total yardage battle 231-198, but the Hawkeyes are putting it in the end zone while the Huskers have kicked 3 field goals and managed only one touchdown.
The player of the half non-award definitely goes to Doak Walker-snubbed Emmett Johnson who has 19 carries for 177 yards. This is most fortunate as T.J. Lateef is only 5-14 for 42 yards through the air and is believed to have tweaked his knee in the first half limiting his running abilities.
The Hawkeyes finally popped some runs on their last drive, but prior to that managed a few big plays through the air as the Husker rush has been mostly ineffective.
