During the season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.

The Browns are coming off a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and just as I expected, fan confidence in the direction of the team skyrocketed. Week-to-week, fan confidence increased by 38 percentage points up to 51%, the highest level for the team since Week 8. All it took was a glimmer of hope from Shedeur Sanders, who had several big plays amidst an otherwise pedestrian performance against the Raiders. That’s all this team may need to win games, though, when you pair it with a defense that also looked energized. The Browns’ opponents this week, the San Francisco 49ers, have 78% confidence from their fanbase in the direction of the team.

We asked one other question to fans this week, and it was to grade Sanders’ starting debut. Only 7% gave it an A, 4% gave it a D, and 1% gave it an F. Therefore, we’re really looking at a debate as to whether or not it was graded a B or a C. 46% of fans said B, while 42% of fans said C. How you decide to grade a performance is really up to individual interpretation, and it’s difficult when you look at a guy like Sanders, who had a few big plays, but not so much in between. However, he’s also a player who had his first week of practice with the first-teamers, so does that give him a “curve” so-to-speak with his grade?

I give him a C. I think the Raiders made a mistake on defense by not blitzing him off the edge often, which really prevented us from seeing those backpedaling type of plays that were detrimental to him against the Ravens and back in the preseason. However, I love that he keeps his eyes down the field, and showed poise. He has an energy around him that is also immeasurable, but should be counted at the same time. He left us hungry wanting to see more.
