Braylon Mullins returned to the court ahead of schedule and made his collegiate debut Friday afternoon.
The 2025 Indiana Mr. Basketball out of Greenfield-Central missed the first four weeks of the UConn basketball season due to an ankle injury. His original timeline was to return around Dec. 5, but he debuted in the Huskies' 74-61 win over Illinois at Madison Square Garden.

His first collegiate points came on a jumper with 11:27 left in regulation, part of a 7-0 UConn run that expanded its lead to 21 before Illinois tightened the game with a run of its own. Mullins shot-faked off a catch behind the 3-point line, took two dribbles into a pull-up jumper.
Mullins was picked as Big East Preseason Player of the Year, the third straight Huskie to be voted as such. The sharpshooter, however, struggled in his first game. He was 1 for 5 and missed all three 3-point attempts.
He was rated the No. 15 recruit in 247Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class. He led Greenfield-Central to a 23-4 record, averaging 32.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.7 steals per game, shooting better than 47% on 3s.
