The Eagles were punished by the Bears at home, thanks in part to some very familiar faces.

We have certainly seen some good performances by the Philadelphia Eagles during the holiday season. Who could ever forget three Christmas Day wins and the players who shone during their occurrence?

Jeff Garcia led the Birds to a win over Bill Parcells' Dallas Cowboys in 2006. A Nick Foles-led outfit conquered the then-Oakland Raiders in a 2017 close call.

In 2023, Philadelphia upended the New York Giants in another home game. Kelee Ringo hauled in an interception to ice the game in that one.

We've seen Chip Kelly's Eagles dominate the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. We also saw Kelly's Eagles ripped apart by the Detroit Lions in the Thanksgiving Day Massacre. November 28, 2025 will forever be remembered in the City of Brotherly Love as Black Friday. Sadly, that won't be for the reason that everyone hoped.

Black Friday technically isn't a holiday, but what the heck? It's close enough. Philadelphia was punished by the Chicago Bears en route to a 24-15 loss in a game that wasn't as close as the score may indicate. They can thank some former Eagles for the tail-kicking.

D'Andre Swift

D'Andre Swift earned his first and only Pro Bowl nod during his lone season in Philadelphia. On Black Friday, the Eagles' defense did everything it could to strengthen his case for a second.

He racked up 125 yards and a TD on 18 carries. He picked up another 13 yards on his lone catch as a receiver.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson

There was a C.J. Gardner-Johnson sighting. We counted three tackles and at least one wag of the finger. You had to know that was coming.

Olamide Zaccheaus

Olamide Zaccheaus grabbed two of the three passes thrown in his direction. He gained 19 yards, and if not for some pressure from Nolan Smith on Chicago's second possession, Caleb Williams might have hit him for an 11-yard touchdown.

Kevin Byard III

Jalen Hurts threw his second interception of the season, thanks to a desperation throw. Kevin Byard was the beneficiary of that decision.

That gives Byard a league-leading six picks for the season. Also in this one, he tallied six tackles. Four were of the solo variety.

Verdict: Something tells us that, had T.J. Edwards played, he would have gone off, too. It's hard to remember a loss that was this embarrassing.

One has to look all the way back to a collapse against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12, five days earlier. Next up on the schedule is a road date vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. It already feels like the Eagles are overmatched in that one.

It seemed premature to state that this season resembled the 2023 campaign when that narrative began. Those narratives will continue and amplify now, and rightfully so.
