The home defeat is by no means an uncommon phenomenon in the troubled Tottenham Hotspur era of Thomas Frank – but a home defeat to a team that had not won away all season in the Premier League spells even greater trouble for the man in charge.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

It just gets worse and worse for Spurs’ beleaguered manager who has three defeats in a row now and will find this latest to Fulham the hardest to explain. His team conceded twice within the opening six minutes and never recovered, which is very different to those defeats that preceded it – to the Premier League leaders Arsenal last weekend and then the European champions Paris St-Germain on Wednesday. Fulham had previously taken just a single point on the road all season, against Brighton in the August opener.

As for Spurs, their own dismal home form continues. Their only home Premier League win in N17 this season was also back on the first day of the season against Burnley.

How long can Frank survive? It feels like the home crowd controls his destiny, and when they tip into calling for regime change then the manager is likely to follow. His team face Newcastle United on Tuesday and then he is back at the stadium of discontent on Saturday to face his former club Brentford. If his successor Keith Andrews wins that one it is hard to see Frank being in place for the return fixture on New Year’s Day.

Frank had talked up the performance in that 5-3 defeat by PSG in Paris but there was no polishing this one. The goals from Kenny Tete and then Harry Wilson in the early part of the game set the tone. There was a second-half goal from Mohammed Kudus but Marco Silva’s team were excellent in taking the sting out of Spurs after that. Frank is still missing many key players but that did not alter the fact that this was a dismal performance.

There are all flavours of half-time boos at Spurs, which really is the place to hear for the full range of expressions of dismay from home supporters. As per the latest convention, Spurs players lingered together in the centre circle at the end of the first half and then came off the pitch together while the booing died away.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

It had been very bad in the first six minutes, when Fulham scored twice and then it had improved only marginally afterwards. There had been a rally at the end of the first half for Spurs although that is the least one might expect given what had come before it. Just a single shot on target for the home team all half. There were periods when their confidence was paper-thin and given the start that was hardly surprising.

Frank had made four changes from the team that lost at Paris St-Germain, with Cristian Romero suspended and Pape Sarr, Djed Spence and Rodrigo Bentancur all on the bench. But there was scarcely time for the Spurs players to settle into another demanding home game before they were a goal down on 3mins and 30secs. It would be a dreadful first half for Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso and the first goal came down Porro’s right side.

It was created by the Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze, on loan from AC Milan, and very dangerous against a retreating Spurs defence. He squeezed past Porro and held off Archie Gray to pick a nice pass to Kenny Tete. The shot was in via a big deflection off Destiny Udogie, who was always stretching to try to block. The stadium had barely processed it when Wilson scored within two minutes.

That second goal was on Guglielmo Vicario. The goalkeeper had given it away out on the right. The 18-year-old Josh King had won the ball and his pass to Wilson was shaped beautifully by the Welshman’s left foot into the goal that Vicario had left empty.

Two goals down to a club that had taken just a single point away from home all season, and the home fans could barely contain their disgust. Frank could not disguise his shock. Chukwueze would hit the post just past ten minutes. Shortly after that when Vicario made a simple clearance up the pitch the home support cheered ironically. Nothing could have demonstrated the dysfunctional relationship between players and fans more clearly.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Micky Van de Ven’s recovery tackle on Chukwueze on 26 minutes came just as the winger was about to aim at goal. That had come from Bernd Leno’s long strike down the middle, with Danso failing to clear and Chukwueze running off Porro. Later Van de Ven would come to the rescue again, heading the ball away from Raúl Jiménez as the Fulham striker attacked Chukwueze’s cross.

Frank had readied his substitutes by the time his team finally got their first goal back just before the hour. Kudus, back in the XI, struck a fine left foot shot with the outside of the boot that surprised Bernd Leno by flying on his near post rather than across the goalkeeper as the winger’s body shape suggested.

It had come from the pass of Lucas Bergvall, one of the better Spurs performers. Frank sent on Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Bentancur and there was some momentum. Kolo Muani had showed some threat before then and stayed on the pitch while Richarlison went off. Fulham were into that period of the game where they were under pressure and Spurs’ fragile confidence was momentarily reinforced. But it can be a fickle thing and they faded again.

‘I’m a big man’ - Vicaio says boos are ‘part of football’

Speaking to Sky Sports about being booed, Guglielmo Vicario said: “It’s part of football, I’m a big man, I’m older, what can I say? We cannot be influenced.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

“The fans have the right to do what they think and it’s on us to try and stay more calm, to try on focus on ourselves, on what we have to do. We are lacking at the moment in composure and calmness, it’s a bad defeat and tough to accept.

On how the players are affected by booing, he said: “Everyone is different, of course we would like to go up in the result and to lead the games so we don’t have to chase it.

“But today this was the scenario, we had 90 minutes to overturn the result, but we missed calmness and composure in trying to score some goals.

“It’s a bad defeat, we apologise for the result, of course it’s what we didn’t expect tonight.”

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

On how this compared to the Arsenal loss, he said: “In terms of the basic of football, I think we compete, we put some physicality, we were ready to fight, so it’s a completely different defeat to the one we suffered last weekend.”

10:28pm

‘I hope it was one incident and it never happens again’ - Frank on Spurs fans booing

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to Sky Sports about the supporters being frustrated to the point they booed their own goalkeeper: “It is OK that they are frustrated, because we haven’t won at home for a long time. We all badly want to win so I’m fine with them booing after the game, but during the game I hope it was one incident and it never happens again.”

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

On Pedro Porro showing some frustration towards the supporters when he left the pitch: “I didn’t see the incident so I don’t know exactly. We are in a tough spell right now and for my players it is about being as calm as possible and doing everything we can to work through it.”

On their recent run of form: “This result leaves us in a place where we have lost another game. Every game has a single story, this game we lost in the first six minutes. We just need to keep working. The second half was much better and hopefully something we can use to learn.”

10:25pm

Frank: Supporters who booed Vicario ‘not true Tottenham fans’

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to Sky Sports: “When you’re down 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to climb.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

“When you’re in a bad spell, everything seems to go against you as well - the first was a deflected shot, the second is a mistake from Vic [Guglielmo Vicario].

“I didn’t like that our fans booed at him straight after and a few times after that. They can’t be true Tottenham fans because everyone supports each other when you’re on the pitch and we do everything we can to perform.

“I’m fine with them booing after the match, no problem, but not during. That is unacceptable in my opinion.

“After that, we rushed the first half in many ways. We wanted to come back into the game but couldn’t do it in the first half.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

“We got much better in the second half. We got a bit of momentum, created more chances and opportunities, but couldn’t get the second goal.

“It was an emotional performance in the second half, and I think that’s quite normal. We know that we badly want to win at home, so when it’s not going your way, it is hard.

“That’s why you need to stick to the plan, be cool and not stress. It is easier said than done.”

10:23pm

Tottenham’s torrid 2025 on home soil

Tottenham suffered their 10th home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, with this now their joint-most home league defeats in a single calendar year in club history. And there’s still a whole month to go...

10:21pm

‘We call him Chukwu-magic’ - Iwobi on impressive winger

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi speaking to Sky Sports: “We knew it was going to be difficult facing Tottenham. It was good to have a strong start. We wanted to get our first away win and that was the motivation today.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

On Samuel Chukwueze, he said: “He is energetic on and off the pitch. We are happy to have him. You can see the magic he does on the field. He is a great addition to the club. We want to give him the confidence.

“Chukwu-magic - that’s his nickname in the training field. He is able to do it in training and in matches. He just need to ostay consistent.”

On team chemistry, Iwobi said: “We have a nice brotherhood in the team. Everyone motivates each other and everyone fights for each other. The chemistry is good right now.

On beating Spurs, he said: “It’s a London derby and hopefully this will kick start us to go on ahead in the table.”

10:12pm

‘We had to defend with all our life’, says Chukwueze

Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze, speaking to Sky Sports, on his first Premier League start: “I wasn’t expecting it today. But I was focusing on doing the hard work.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

“Last months have been a bit difficult but I kept my head down and kept working. And I took the opportunity today.

On support from team-mates: “They push me really hard in training and keep me motivated.

“We are so proud of the result today. We worked for it in the training pitch. The players gave everything on the field. We had to defend with all our life. This win is very, very important.”

10:10pm

Quiet night for Leno

While Spurs offered a much greater threat in the second period after producing just two shots in the first half, neither of which were on target, they still only managed two shots on target after the break.

10:08pm

‘You can see the frustration’, says Dawson

Former Spurs defender Michael Dawson on Sky Sports: “You can see the frustration from the Spurs fans and even the players.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

“There was a response from Spurs in the second half, but a bad performance, that’s why you can feel the tension.

“Spurs need to come out the blocks quick, that performance at Emirates last week, the first half against Manchester United, against Chelsea, nowhere near the levels these Spurs fans expect.”

10:06pm

Tottenham’s last seven games in all competitions

Tottenham have registered just one win in their last seven games in all competitions:

  • 29/10 - Newcastle 2 Tottenham 0 (League Cup)

  • 1/11 - Tottenham 0 Chelsea 1 (PL)

  • 4/11 - Tottenham 4 Copenhagen 0 (UCL)

  • 8/11 Tottenham 2 Manchester United 2 (PL)

  • 23/11 - Arsenal 4 Tottenham 1 (PL)

  • 26/11 - PSG 5 Tottenham 3 (UCL)

  • 29/11 - Tottenham 1 Fulham 2 (PL)

10:03pm

More frustration for Spurs

There was a mixture of dejection and anger among the Spurs players at full-time. Pedro Porro looked particularly enraged, appearing to shout at someone before charging down the tunnel.

10:01pm

Up next

Tottenham will look for their first win in five league games on Tuesday when they travel to face Newcastle United.

Fulham, meanwhile, will hope to build on this victory with a home clash against Manchester City on the same night.

09:58pm

Spurs’ home struggles continue

Tottenham have won just once at home in the Premier League this season, on the opening weekend against Burnley.

They have now lost four of their seven league games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this term and have the second-worst home record of any team in the league.

09:55pm

What this does

Tottenham remain in 10th, four points adrift of the top four and without a win in four league games.

Fulham, meanwhile, also stay in the same spot in the league in 15th, but close the gap on the five sides above them to just one point.

09:54pm

Full time: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Tottenham have been beaten yet again at home and their disappointing week gets even worse. Boos ring around the stadium as the pressure grows on Frank.

09:53pm

90+4 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Danso launches a long throw into the area but Anderson, who has been really solid tonight, powers another header away.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Kolo Muani tugs back Tete as he drives down Fulham’s right and the striker goes into the book. That should see the visitors through now.

09:51pm

90+1 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

There will be four minutes of added time at the end of this one, the Spurs fans were clearly hoping for more.

The hosts enjoyed a dominant and threatening period around their goal but Fulham have just stifled them in the last 20 minutes or so. Can they find something in these closing stages?

Porro’s cross drifts out for a goal-kick and there are groans around the stadium. Leno picks up a yellow for taking his time with the goal-kick.

09:47pm

88 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Silva responds to Frank’s attacking change with a defensive substitution, bringing on Castagne in place of Iwobi.

09:46pm

87 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

There is one last roll of the dice from Frank, sending Tel on for the closing stages in place of Udogie.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Spurs win a corner down their left but Tete heads Porro’s delivery away, and the Spurs defender’s second cross is gathered by Leno.

09:44pm

84 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Kevin looks to make an instant impact, trying his luck from the edge of the area, but his low effort is straight at Vicario.

Moments later, the Brazilian wins a free-kick in a promising position down Fulham’s left as he gets chopped down by Bentancur after drawing the Spurs midfielder into the tackle.

Lukic looks to catch Vicario out at the near post with the free-kick, attempting a low whipped effort, but it’s easily cleared.

09:42pm

82 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Spurs have the corner from their right once again and it drops to the feet of Udogie at the back post.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

The left-back’s shot is charged down but Kolo Muani manages to pinch the ball on the edge of the six-yard box and he improvises a back-heel effort, which goes inches wide of the left post.

It was nearly genius from the striker.

09:40pm

80 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Another substitution for Fulham now with Chukwueze making way for Kevin.

It was a really impressive first Premier League start from the winger, particularly in that opening period, causing Spurs all sorts of problems on that left-hand side.

09:39pm

79 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Fulham put together a slick move down their left to release Chukwueze into the left of the box and he fires a ball across goal.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Knowing he wasn’t going to reach it with his head, Jimenez tries to paw it in with both hands at the back post and receives a booking for his efforts.

09:37pm

77 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Simons looks to bend one from range but he never really had the space and the effort is easily blocked.

Frank makes another change with Sarr coming on for the final 20 minutes in place of Bergvall.

09:34pm

74 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Fulham look to counter and the pitch opens up for Lukic to slide Sessegnon in behind the Spurs defence.

The former Spurs man is caught up by a recovering defender so picks out Smith Rowe inside of him but the substitute’s shot is blocked.

09:32pm

72 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

It’s sublime from Kudus! The ball is cleared to the winger just to the right of the area and he keeps it in the air, does three keepy-ups before backheeling it past two Fulham defenders to find Porro.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

The full-back’s cross picks out Odobert at the back post but he can only direct his header over the bar

09:27pm

68 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

So here are those changes from Silva. Wilson, who seems to be struggling with his hamstring, and King make way, with Lukic and Smith-Rowe on in their place.

09:26pm

67 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Spurs are nearly level! Kudus slides Porro into the right channel and his low ball into the box picks out Simons, but his sweeping effort is deflected wide by a sliding block from Anderson.

The resulting corner from the right picks out Bergvall at the near post and his looping header is creeping into the far corner but Jimenez clears it off the line.

09:25pm

65 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Kolo Muani is nearly played in on goal but Anderson makes an excellent recovery challenge to prevent the one-on-one.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Silva is preparing changes of his own now, with his side really on the back foot.

09:24pm

64 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

It’s all Spurs now and Kudus picks the ball up in a dangerous position once more, coming into the right of the area.

His ball across goal is blocked, though, and Kolo Muani gets a touch on it as he looks to keep it in play, so it will be a goal-kick, much to the dismay of the home fans.

09:22pm

62 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2

Frank still makes the three changes he was lining up, despite the goal, with Simons, Bentancur and Odobert coming on for Richarlison, Gray and Bentancur.

09:20pm

GOAL! Kudus lashes volley home to halve deficit

Tottenham Hotspur 1 Fulham 2 (Kudus) Spurs have been much more threatening in this second half and they have one back.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

As Fulham clear a corner the ball drops to Bergvall and the midfielder lifts a ball over the visitors’ defence into the right of the area for Kudus, who chests it down before firing a left-footed volley over Leno.

It was a superb finish from the winger!

09:18pm

58 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Anderson makes a mess of a cross into the box as it skids off the turf and strikes his midriff. There are appeals for a handball but the hosts will have to settle for a corner.

Once again, it comes to nothing.

09:17pm

57 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

It’s so close for Spurs! Porro delivers a cross into the box from the right and Kolo Muani gets in front of his man but his header whistles just wide of the near post.

09:16pm

56 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Spurs win another corner down that right but after going short with it, Kudus’ delivery into the box goes over everyone and out for a goal-kick.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement

Frank is preparing a number of changes now having given his side the chance to turn things round at the start of this second half.

09:15pm

55 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Richarlison gets around Bassey and looks set to break into the right of the area but goes down under contact from the central defender. Nothing is given, though, and the Spurs fans are livid.

Fulham break down the other end and King does well to look after the ball in the area, waiting for his team-mates to arrive, but his cut-back for Wilson is intercepted.

09:12pm

53 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Bergvall goes on a driving run past a couple of Fulham midfielders and, despite it coming to nothing, it gets a round of applause from the home fans, happy to see someone take the game to Fulham.

Moments later and Porro wins a corner down their right. It’s a wicked delivery from Kudus, right on top of Leno, but the German just about manages to punch it away.

09:09pm

Former Spurs manager David Pleat and legendary club striker Clive Allen interviewed on the pitch at half time about the 1986-87 season.

Pleat, discussing Allen’s famous 49-goal season, appeared to quip, “Imagine that now, 49 goals, we would be happy with just a shot at goal!”

09:08pm

49 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Udogie’s touch gets away from him and he goes in strongly on Tete as he tries to recover the situation, giving away the foul and picking up a booking for his troubles.

09:07pm

46 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

After just 20 seconds of the second half, Spurs have already looked more threatening than they did in the whole of the opening period.

Bassey, on the edge of his six-yard box, can only get his chest to a cross from the right and the ball sits up for Kolo Muani but his volley is blocked by the Fulham central defender.

09:05pm

46 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

We are back underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the hosts kicking things off, going from left to right in this second half.

There are no changes from either side at the break. How long is Frank giving his starting players before making a substitution?

09:04pm

As it stands

Tottenham are remaining in 10th, four points adrift of the top four and without a win in four league games.

Fulham, meanwhile, are also staying in the same spot in the league in 15th, but are closing the gap on the five sides above them to one point.

08:57pm

Bleak attacking numbers for Spurs

Tottenham have created an xG of 0.07, having produced just two shots and with neither of them finding the target.

No side has had fewer shots in the first half of a Premier League game this season.

Thomas Frank’s men have delivered 19 crosses into the box but not one of them has found a team-mate.

08:50pm

Spurs players unhappy

The Spurs players were leaving the pitch all in a fairly close group, seemingly having words with each other about that disastrous first half and how they can turn this around.

08:48pm

Half-time Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Spurs win a corner down their right in the final minute of added time but it sails over everyone and out for a goal-kick.

The half-time whistle is then blown and unsurprisingly, it is met with huge boos from the home fans.

08:46pm

45+2 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

b'

'

The first half is fading out for Spurs - they are in crisis in this game.

Meanwhile, Fulham’s Josh King is once again demonstrating some fabulous touches. Not an easy position to play for an underdog team away from home in the Premier League, especially as an 18-year-old.

Waiting for the boos at the referee’s whistle to end the half.

08:46pm

45+1 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Gray digs out a more promising cross but once again it’s headed away by a Fulham shirt.

The ball is laid back to Van de Ven on the edge of the area but his first-time curling attempt sails way over the bar.

There will be three minutes added on at the end of this first half.

08:44pm

44 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Spurs string together a nice sequence of passes down their right but Kudus’ square ball for Gray is cut out and there are huge groans.

King’s pass looking to release Chukwueze is cut out, though, and Spurs win the throw-in down their right. Danso trots up to launch it in but it’s dealt with by the visitors.

08:42pm

42 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Tete collides with Kolo Muani and Spurs are awarded the free-kick about 40 yards out.

Porro’s delivery is disappointing, though, headed away by the first Fulham defender inside the area.

08:39pm

39 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Chukwueze collects the ball in the left of the area and digs out a cross towards Jimenez but Van de Ven gets in front of the striker to head the ball behind for a corner.

He is the only Spurs player who has impressed in the opening period.

08:37pm

37 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Spurs threaten a meaningful attack but Udogie is flagged offside as he is fed down the left. Though replays suggest that was maybe an incorrect call against the left-back.

Moments later and Kolo Muani is competing with Bassey for the ball in the corner but is penalised as the Fulham man goes down. The striker is incensed at the decision.

08:34pm

34 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

The Spurs fans are becoming familiar with lacklustre attacking displays and it’s been the same this evening, creating an xG of just 0.02 so far.

Frank’s side have produced just one shot in the match and that failed to find the target - Gray’s effort from 30 yards out.

08:31pm

31 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Spurs have the free-kick and take the chance to load the box but are penalised as Van de Ven goes in strongly on Anderson as the pair compete in the air.

Van de Ven then stands over Anderson, who remains on the floor, shouting at him and clearly feeling that he went down easily. That reaction earns the Spurs man a booking.

08:29pm

28 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

b'

Should have been three for Fulham. The irrepressible Chukwueze just stopped as he shaped to shoot by Van de Ven.

Porro and Danso having a terrible time of it dealing with the long ball in behind them.

08:26pm

26 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

It should be three! Porro looks to deal with a long ball over the top but has his pocket pinched by Chukwueze.

The winger rounds Vicario and looks set to slot home but Van de Ven recovers with a goal-saving sliding challenge.

Once again Spurs are causing all of their own problems.

08:25pm

25 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Gray is given space about 30 yards out and decides to let fly but he drags his effort a fair way wide of the left post.

08:24pm

24 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Kudus volleys a looping cross into the area and Fulham make a meal of it, with Bassey mistiming his jump and flicking a header onto the feet of his centre-back partner Anderson.

The Denmark international has virtually no time to react but manages to divert the ball over his goal and out for a corner, which his side deal with.

08:22pm

22 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Richarlison is fed into the right channel and he wins his side their first corner of the match as his cross is blocked.

Kudus’ delivery is a dangerous one but Leno does well to punch clear. Spurs keep the pressure on but Kudus’ next cross is headed away by Tete.

08:20pm

20 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Bergvall presses Fulham as they play out from the back but leaves a late one on Anderson, who stays down and is in a bit of pain.

It is just a talking to from the referee but the midfielder is probably on thin ice now in terms of a booking. Anderson takes his time but will be okay to continue.

08:16pm

16 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Chukwueze is slipped into the left channel but is a fair way offside so the flag goes up straight away.

Fulham go on to put the ball in the back of the net but the whistle had long been blown and the Spurs players had stopped.

08:15pm

15 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Chukwueze’s pull-back picks out Wilson on the penalty spot but his strike is blocked.

A cross comes straight back into the box, though, and it requires some heroic defending from Van de Ven to deny Jimenez an effort on goal.

08:13pm

Ironic cheers from home fans when Vicario makes a simple clearance. It’s not a happy camp at Spurs.

08:12pm

12 mins: Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2

Fulham threaten another as Chukwueze breaks into he left of the box but Van de Ven gets across to make a sliding challenge and the subsequent effort on goal from a tight angle is blocked behind for a corner.

The set-piece then drops to Chukwueze on the edge of the box and the winger takes a touch before bending a left-footed curling effort on goal and it clips the outside of the left post. So close to a third!

Subdued barely does justice to the mood at Spurs after two Fulham goals in six minutes. There is, it is fair to say, a simmering discontent that could reach boiling point at any moment.

Some great incisive performances so far from Fulham, including Samuel Chukwueze who created the first and then Harry Wilson who finished delightfully for the second.

But at the moment Thomas Frank looks appalled and all in the home seats are quietly furious.

08:08pm

GOAL! Nightmare start for Spurs as Wilson capitalises on Vicario error

Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 2 (Viacrio) What is going on here? Tottenham have shot themselves in the foot and are already two goals down.

Vicario comes rushing out of his goal to deal with a long ball and after doing well to make the interception, his attempted clearance up the line goes straight to King.

The 18-year-old lays it forward to Wilson, who sweeps a sensational left-footed finish from out wide on the right into an empty net. It’s a disaster for Frank and his side as Vicario gets booed by his fans.

08:06pm

GOAL! Tete opens scoring inside four minutes via deflection

Tottenham Hotspur 0 Fulham 1 (Tete) What a start for Fulham as Spurs’ home struggles continue.

Chukwueze gets fortunate in how he gets round Porro to break into the left of the box and gets a bit more luck as his mis-directed pass rolls into the path of Tete on the edge of the box.

The right-back’s low driven effort takes a nick of Udogie and flies into the bottom right corner, Vicario had no chance.

08:03pm

It looks as if Spurs are building up almost in a back three, with Porro tucking in from the right and Udogie starting high up down the left.

Their lengthy spell of possession at the start of this game comes to an end as Van de Ven pings a pass into touch, nowhere near its desired destination of Uodgie.

‘I like their enthusiasm’ - Frank on Bergvall and Gray

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank speaking to Sky Sports on Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall’s partnership: “Both of them did very well and their performance looked right in midweek [against Paris St-Germain].

“I like Archie’s energy and the way he can drive forward with the ball and build things on the ball. I like the same things with Lucas, he shows good energy plus a willingness to press and run in behind. I like their enthusiasm.”

Frank demanding ‘energy’

Speaking to Sky Sports, Thomas Frank has said this evening: “We need to come out with energy, intensity, really put that into the game on and off the ball, the rest will take care of itself.”

Spurs’ struggles going forward

Out of Tottenham’s seven lowest expected goal tallies in the Premier League since this data was first collected in 2012, three of those games have come this season.

They amassed a combined xG of 0.36 across their defeats against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Arsenal, with the first two of those coming at home.

But after putting three past PSG on Wednesday, Spurs fans will hope this is a sign of things to come.

07:44pm

Fulham’s upturn in form

After a run of four consecutive defeats in the league, there are signs of improvement for Marco Silva’s men, with two wins in their last three.

The west London side put three past Wolves at the start of the month and, following a defeat against Everton, clinched a 1-0 win over Sunderland last time out thanks to Raul Jimenez’s late strike.

Richarlison in form but still looking to break duck against Fulham

Richarlison has scored in each of his last two league games, against Arsenal and Manchester United, and is Tottenham’s top scorer in the league this season with five goals.

The Brazilian has netted 16 goals in his last 22 league starts for Spurs.

However, he’s never scored in eight appearances against Fulham in the competition, only facing his current side and Aston Villa more without scoring.

Frank leaning on ‘experience’ in difficult patch

The pressure on Thomas Frank has started to mount in recent weeks, with his side winning just one of their last six games in all competitions.

Asked this week how he remains calm under pressure, the Spurs boss said: “Trust my experience, trust my staff, my players, the club, the leadership - that’s key for us to progress as a structure. Just to keep doing that, keep believing, keep working.

“Always one more conversation, one more video clip, one more meeting, one more training session, constantly try to improve bits, know where you want to go, try to improve the culture, the style of play every single day. That’s the key.”

Impact of today’s results on tonight’s game

Brentford’s victory over Burnley has taken them up to eighth in the Premier League ahead of Tottenham, who have dropped to 10th ahead of tonight’s game.

But victory for Thomas Frank’s men could take them up to fifth, ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference and a point behind Sunderland in fourth.

Newcastle’s win over Everton has seen them climb to 11th in the league and it means Fulham can not move up from 15th with a win this evening.

Marco Silva’s men currently trail the five teams above them, including Newcastle and Everton, by four points.

Elsewhere in the Premier League today

‘A win will be very helpful’, says Frank

Asked if tonight’s match is must-win, Tottenham boss Thomas Frank said this week: “I’m very aware a top performance and a win will be very helpful.

“I go into every game believing we will win. I need to make sure we’re well prepared, to pick the best possible team.”

The Tottenham boss was “pleased” with the response of his side in their midweek trip tp PSG following their thumping in the north London derby last weekend.

“I think the aggression in the high pressure, the forwardness and intensity should have earned us a point or points against PSG but some randomness and game management meant we didn’t. That is what we have to learn from.”

Poor home record meets poor away record

Tottenham’s struggles at home continue to persist, having managed just three league wins on home soil in 2025.

Their only victory in front of their own supporters under Thomas Frank came on the opening weekend of the season against Burnley.

However, they face a Fulham side who sit joint bottom of the away form table having lost five in a row on the road, earning just one point all season at Craven Cottage.

‘Let’s go for it’ - Silva on Spurs test

Discussing Fulham’s opponents tonight, manager Marco Silva said: “In the Premier League, they’ve been very strong away from home so far but at home not the best results.

“In the opposite way but similar with us, they want to correct things at home and go in the right direction.

“Massive respect to them and their quality but we look for ourselves and we want to get a result away from home.

“They are going to do the same with an amazing fanbase as well, in a great place to play football so let’s go for it and match them and see who’s going to be a better side on the pitch.”

Fulham injury news

Marco Silva confirmed there were no new injuries in the Fulham squad following last weekend’s win over Sunderland.

Rodrigo Muniz and Antonee Robinson are still ruled out with their thigh and knee injuries, respectively.

Silva said there is no time-scale for Robinson but the full-back is “getting better” and is doing “individual work on the pitch”.

06:36pm

Spurs injury news

Thomas Frank confirmed he has no fresh injury concerns, though Radu Dragusin is still not fit to start and Cristian Romero is unavailable through suspension.

He said that none of his long-term absentees are nearing a return and when asked about Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski, he added: “I’d love to have them ready to play for us, but they’re unavailable, other players need to step up.

“It’s much easier to say they’re in, when available, rather than put a time-frame on it.”

06:30pm

Spurs target first league win in four with visit of Fulham

Good evening, and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham, as Thomas Frank’s side look to build on the positives from their midweek trip to Paris Saint-Germain and end a run of three Premier League games without a win.

Spurs delivered an abject display as they were thumped 4-1 in the north London derby last weekend, with their summer target Eberechi Eze bagging a hat-trick for Arsenal. It extended their winless run in the league after drawing with Manchester United and suffering a defeat against Chelsea, either side of the November international break.

Spurs produced a combined expected goals (xG) of just 0.12 in the two losses against their London rivals, so there was reason for optimism in their spirited performance away against PSG on Wednesday. Despite ultimately being beaten 5-3, Frank’s men showed a much-improved attacking intent and limited the European champions to few chances before their flurry of second-half goals.

But the disappointing run in the league means they came into this weekend down in ninth, three points adrift of the top four. They did start the day six places and four points ahead of their opponents this evening, with Fulham occupying 15th spot in the league coming into the latest round of action.

However, after a run of four consecutive defeats in the league, there are signs of improvement for Marco Silva’s men, with two wins in their last three. The west London side put three past Wolves at the start of the month and, following a defeat against Everton, clinched a 1-0 win over Sunderland last time out thanks to Raul Jimenez’s late strike.

Fulham will also take confidence from their recent record against Spurs, having gone unbeaten in the last three league meetings between the sides, and winning two of those, including a 2-0 victory at Craven Cottage when they last faced each other in March.
