Noles News: Rivalry week; FSU can clinch bowl eligibility this weekend

Football:

Mike Norvell’s immediate focus is on the Florida Gators and gaining bowl eligibility however no clarity about what the ‘front office evaluation’ means.

You look at — that’s part of all things you evaluate. Are we structured, positioned to be the best that we can be in this new age and this new world? Things that you look at, things that you evaluate, and we’ll continue to push towards that as the season is over and as we transition into what’s ahead.

It’s to be expected with the season still going on but that’s a lot of word salad to essentially say what you’ve been saying.

Bud Elliot and the rest of the Cover 3 Podcast are simply not buying what FSU is trying to sell about its football program’s future;

Andy Staples makes the argument that you’re really not saving anything at all by kicking the can on this decision:

Florida State is redshirting Kam Davis and Kevin Wynn so you won’t see them on the final regular season edition of the weekly depth chart.

Recruiting:

Four-star LB Iyazia Williams told Noles247 he was going to sign with Florida State regardless of Coach Norvell’s status but he reiterated faith in Norvell but also made a very clear point about what he thinks FSU needs to do to turn it around.

What does Williams think needs to happen for FSU to turn things around on the field and get back to its winning ways moving forward?

“I think we just need to, next year when we play, go out there and win games like we should. Try to get the best players in the next class and just keep building from there really,” Williams shared.

High School recruiting is how FSU will climb out of this hole (pun not intended).

Speaking of which four-star offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks has decommitted from Florida State. With Early Signing Day a few weeks away FSU will have to move quickly to replace him.
