Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain clinched their first-ever title last season after thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in the final, which was also the biggest margin of victory in a European Cup final ever.

The tournament will continue to operate in the league phase opted in the last season, with 36 teams. Each club will play eight games (four home, four away), drawn from the four seeding pots. The top eight teams at the end of that phase will go straight into the round of 16, while teams between 9th and 24th place will battle in the Champions League play-off round to reach the same stage.

Pafos, Bodø/Glimt, and Kairat Almaty are the new clubs that will feature in this year’s UCL. They all reached the league phase through the qualifying rounds.

With some tactical changes and leadership overhaul, some of the biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Inter Milan, will be eyeing to dethrone PSG of their title. With the new format, heated on-field rivalries, and countless challenges, this season promises to bring a complete football entertainment package to fans worldwide.
