Tasked with a must-win game in a challenging road environment, Alabama jumped out to an early lead against the in-state rival Tigers, but saw that lead disappear, even seeing themselves tied 20-20 in the fourth quarter.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHowever, Alabama responded with one of the drives of the season late in the fourth quarter to take a 27-20 lead, a result that went on to stand following some strong defensive play in the game's final minutes, headlined by a huge forced fumble from Bray Hubbard.
An all-around massive win, Alabama not only won their sixth-straight Iron Bowl against Auburn, but also advanced to next Saturday's SEC Championship Game against Georgia, while also improving their chances at making the College Football Playoff.
