Two Sundays. Two very different forms of storytelling. Things change quickly in the NFL. One week, the Philadelphia Eagles were 8-2 following four straight wins.

Seven days later, they found themselves on a two-game losing streak and struggling. Their record stood at eight wins and four losses.

Once upon a time, they were the owners of the best record in the National Football Conference. Now, they're stacked behind the Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Bears. Then, there's the divisional race. We're all of a sudden asking if the Dallas Cowboys are the favorites to win the NFC East.

Suddenly, there's a dark cloud or two hanging over the Eagles as they enter the home stretch. Any silver lining, big or small, is welcomed.

Cam Jurgens may have given us one. He spoke with the media after Philadelphia's embarrassing home loss to the Chicago Bears.

“The sky is still above us. We win four and lose two, win four and lose two, let’s go win the next four.”

He didn't have to say much, but he's right. Once upon a time, Jason Kelce said something, and it has stuck with us ever since. When we expect more out of the Eagles, they don't perform as well. When we think they might bomb, they exceed expectations.

People are talking about a potential collapse, one similar to what we saw in 2023. Don't look now, but this 2025-26 Eagles season might be on the verge of a fantastic finish.
