There are plenty of food fans who think life is better with meatballs, and it may be true in combat sports, as well.

"Meatball" Molly McCann, a former UFC fan favorite who recently retired from MMA, moved to 2-0 as a professional boxer Saturday with a unanimous decision win over Ebonie Cotton at a Matchroom Boxing event in Birmingham, England.

The matchup, which took place at 122 pounds, was set for six two-minute rounds. It was the Brit's first boxing decision after a sixth-round knockout in her debut in September.

McCann, 35, made her UFC debut in May 2018 and fought 14 times for the promotion with a .500 mark at 7-7. Her popularity soared with the fanbase at the same time that Paddy Pimblett joined the UFC in 2021, with the two Brits often on the same U.K. cards, rooting each other on, and hyping the crowds.

She announced her venture into boxing with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom promotion less than four months after she announced her retirement from MMA following a quick submission loss to Alexia Thainara at UFC Fight Night 255 in London.

McCann's win over Cotton on Saturday was a bloody one thanks to an accidental clash of heads that had Cotton cut open. Check out highlights of the fight below courtesy of DAZN.
