The SEC football regular season is in the books (Yes, I know the SEC title is technically a regular season game).
LSU football finished SEC play with a 3-5 conference record, ranking 10th in the conference standings.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe SEC championship is the only SEC game left to play before the College Football Playoff selection committee picks the 12 teams invited to compete for a national title. Alabama and Georgia will play for the SEC pennant, a matchup we've grown accustomed to seeing in Atlanta.
While UGA and Bama will represent the SEC in Atlanta, four teams sit atop the conference standings with 7-1 SEC records. Ole Miss and Texas A&M only lost one SEC game, but the tiebreakers didn't fall their way.
Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M are considered playoff locks, no matter the results of championship weekend.
Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and Texas sit at 6-2. Oklahoma feels good about its playoff chances, but Vanderbilt and Texas will be on the edge of their seats during the selection show.
