For the first time this season, the New Orleans Saints won't have running back Alvin Kamara on the field when they take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKamara sustained knee and ankle injuries in Week 12 that forced his early exit from the game. Kamara was unable to log a single practice this past week before he was ruled out.
Here's what we know about Kamara's injury and return timeline moving forward.
When is Alvin Kamara coming back?
We do not have an answer to this question yet.
But, based on the fact that Kamara didn't practice at all this past week, we would say he has a less than 50/50 shot to play in Week 14.
The good news is, the Saints didn't place him on injured reserve, so they don't expect him to be out more than three games.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKnowing that, Kamara could return as early as Week 14 but as late as Week 16. Again, we wouldn't expect him back next week, so Week 15 or 16 seems more likely.
With Kamara sidelined, rookie Devin Neal figures to handle most of the work in the Saints' backfield, but tight end Taysom Hill is also going to be involved as we saw when Kamara exited Week 12 early.
As a result, both are fantasy football starting options moving forward.
