The Los Angeles Rams have been easily one of the best teams in football this season. They sit at 9-2 and are currently first in both the NFC West and NFC as a whole.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSean McVay is one of the most elite coaches in the NFL, and their defense has been one of the most stout in the league. The true recipe of their success this season, however, has been veteran QB Matthew Stafford.
Stafford has looked like a QB five years younger, and he’s garnered serious consideration for the MVP award this season. Today, in the first quarter vs the Panthers, Stafford broke an impressive NFL record, adding to his case.
Stafford breaks Tom Brady’s all-time NFL TD record
In 2010-11, Tom Brady was at the top of the NFL. The Patriots were in the process of going 14-2 that year, and Brady was on his way to one of his three MVP awards.

By throwing his first touchdown of the day, Stafford officially passed Brady’s mark by tallying 28 TDs without throwing an interception.
Unfortunately for Stafford, his moment in the sun was quickly lived. Shortly after throwing that record-breaking TD, Stafford went on to throw not one, but two interceptions, with the second being a pick-six.
The Panthers have been frisky and fun this season, but if this Rams team truly has Super Bowl aspirations, they’ll need to handle teams like the Panthers.
