Los Angeles Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford has looked like a true MVP candidate throughout the first 12 weeks of the NFL season. Early on in Sunday's Week 13 game, Stafford further strengthened that case by breaking an NFL record held by legendary former quarterback Tom Brady.
Coming into Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, Stafford was tied with Brady for the most consecutive touchdown passes thrown without an interception, with 27.
This streak of interception-free play for Stafford dates all the way back to a Week 3 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, the last time that the former Super Bowl champion threw an interception.

Stafford wasted little time in breaking Brady's record and cementing himself in the NFL record books. On the Rams' first drive of the game, the multi-time Pro Bowler was able to find Davante Adams on a four-yard passing touchdown to get Los Angeles on the board.

Unfortunately for Stafford, the rest of the second quarter was not too kind to him. The following two drives for the Rams would end in interceptions thrown by Stafford, one of which was returned for a Panthers touchdown.

While the costly mistakes from Stafford likely put a bit of a damper on achieving this feat, the record itself goes to show just how great he has been this season for the Rams.
A win for Stafford and the Rams would certainly go a long way in helping the veteran quarterback forget about his pair of interceptions following the record-breaking touchdown.
Additionally, it would move the Rams closer to a potential first-round bye in the postseason at the top of the NFC, which is likely far more important to Stafford at the moment than any record could be.
