The Buffalo Bills have a laundry list of injured players entering today’s pivotal matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Sean McDermott ruled out four players on Friday, and one of them, wideout Curtis Samuel, has since been placed on injured reserve. That means that he won’t appear on today’s list of inactives, because he’s already been removed from the 53-man roster.
Buffalo already had an open roster spot, but a flurry of moves followed this weekend. They signed wideout Gabe Davis to the 53-man roster and activated offensive tackle Tylan Grable from injured reserve. They also elevated two players, linebacker Baylon Spector and tight end Keleki Latu, from the practice squad. That means that the Bills still needed to declare seven players out for this afternoon’s contest.

WR Joshua Palmer
While he was listed as questionable for the game, it felt like a stretch that Palmer would play, as he was downgraded from limited to a “DNP” on Thursday. Palmer’s ankle injury will keep him out of the game today. Keon Coleman is active for the first time since Buffalo’s 30-13 loss against the Miami Dolphins, and newcomer Brandin Cooks, who signed with the team last Tuesday, is also active.
TE Dalton Kincaid
There was some hope that Buffalo’s top pass-catcher would play today, but after three limited practices and a questionable designation, the team still called up rookie Keleki Latu from the practice squad. That signaled that it was more likely that Kincaid would sit, and now we have that confirmed. Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes are once again set to take the majority of the tight end snaps.

This we knew, as Buffalo’s usual starter at left tackle is out. We’re assuming that Ryan Van Demark will start there, though it’s also possible that Tylan Grable, who was just activated off of injured reserve this week, could start there, as well.
T Spencer Brown
This we also knew, as Brown had to leave last Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans thanks to a bum shoulder. We assume that either Van Demark, who replaced Brown in that game, or Alec Anderson will draw the start at right tackle. Again, though, it’s entirely possible that Grable starts instead.
DT Phidarian Mathis
After missing a handful of games with a shoulder injury, Mathis is a healthy scratch this week, as he has no injury designation. Jordan Phillips, T.J. Sanders, Larry Ogunjobi, DaQuan Jones, and Deone Walker are the five defensive tackles in uniform for the game.

Buffalo’s defensive captain left the Houston game with an elbow injury, and it will keep him out this week. Shaq Thompson is likely to start, with Dorian Williams and Matt Milano also in line for plenty of snaps against a Pittsburgh squad that loves jumbo sets on offense.
CB Ja’Marcus Ingram
With Tre’Davious White and Maxwell Hairston, who cleared concussion protocol following last week’s loss to Houston, fully entrenched at CB2, Ingram is a healthy scratch.
