The coaching change at Michigan State football is firing up the transfer portal again.
The school fired Jonathan Smith on Sunday Nov. 30, and that started the anticipated roster churn that comes with those personnel decisions. Because of NCAA rules changes this fall, players now cannot enter the transfer portal until five days after a new coach is hired or announced, and they have a 15-day window to find a new school after that.

Here is a look at the Spartans who have announced they plan to enter the portal; they also can withdraw their name and return to MSU.
RB Makhi Frazier (Nov. 30)

The sophomore, who led the Spartans with 520 rushing yards and 116 carries with two touchdowns, has two years of eligibility remaining. He missed three games with an undisclosed injury. The Texas native originally was committed to play for Smith at Oregon State but flipped his pledge after MSU hired the coach in late 2023.
