It's a busy time of year for NFL front offices, particularly scouting departments. While GMs and personnel executives are busy with the day-to-day aspects of running a franchise during the season, the scouts are busy. Not only do the scouts hit different games each week, but they are also busy during the week, visiting schools to learn more about who these prospects are behind the scenes.

This was a big weekend in college football. It was rivalry weekend. There were some top matchups, including Ohio State vs. Michigan and Texas vs. Texas A&M.

So, where were the Washington Commanders?

As of now, the Commanders are projected to have the No. 7 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and were in Ann Arbor for the No. 1 Buckeyes and the No. 15 Wolverines. According to Ryan Fowler, Washington had two scouts in attendance.

While there are several draftable players for both schools, you can bet the Commanders had their eyes on do-everything linebacker Arvell Reese and star wide receiver Carnell Tate. Neither disappointed and Tate finished with 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Of course, Washington was in more places than just Ann Arbor. Washington was also represented at the Georgia-Georgia Tech and Virginia-Virginia Tech games.

At 3-8, the Commanders have lost six games in a row ahead of Sunday Night Football and are more than likely not making the playoffs again in 2026. Officially, Washington is still in contention. With six games remaining, the Commanders appear to be headed toward a pick in the top half of the first round and face a busy offseason with over 30 free agents.
