AFC Playoff Picture: Jacksonville Jaguars move into first place in AFC South

The Jacksonville Jaguars won on Sunday and the Indianapolis Colts lost, so the Jags are the new first place team in the AFC South! The Jaguars win the record vs common opponents tiebreaker, so they are the new first-place team. They sit in third place in the conference.

The Jaguars have wins over the Titans, Raiders, Cardinals, Chargers, and Chiefs and losses to the Rams and Texans for a 5-2 record vs common opponents. The Colts have two wins over the Titans and wins over the Raiders, Cardinals and Chargers with losses to the Chiefs and Texans for a 5-3 record.

The New England Patriots play Monday night and the Denver Broncos won on Sunday night. The Jaguars can’t move up any more this weekend. Denver overtook the Patriots for now based on record vs common opponents.

The Baltimore Ravens retook the AFC North lead after the Pittsburgh Steelers loss, and they are fourth.

The Chargers moved into fifth place, passing the Indianapolis Colts who fall from third to sixth in the conference. The Bills hold steady at seventh.

Behind them, the Houston Texans are 7-5 with the 6-6 Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs nipping at their heels.

AFC standings during Week 13

In the tie between the Broncos and Patriots, Denver is undefeated against the Jets, Raiders, Titans, and Bengals. The Patriots lost to the Raiders in Week 1 and that’s the difference.
