Jamie Carragher has suggested that some off field noise this week has got the better of one Chelsea player yesterday.

The former Liverpool defender was speaking on the Chelsea vs Arsenal game at Stamford Bridge from last night, which was very eventful to say the least.

It was actually a pretty exciting end to end game to watch, even though there was a sending off in the first half.

Sources: Chelsea not in talks to sign Serie A star but there ARE developments in one key position!

Moises Caicedo has been Chelsea’s best and most consistent player in the last two seasons, but last night he had a bit of a head rush and made a very rash challenge to get himself a straight red card. Caicedo mis-timed his tackle and went in with studs showing and quite high, it was a very silly tackle.

Carragher says that Caicedo looked more ‘pumped up’ for this game than he usually is, and suggests this is because of some off field noise in the lead up to the game.

Caicedo vs Rice

There was a lot of talk about the game being Caicedo vs Declan Rice and whoever won that key battle in midfield would be on the winning side.

Carragher thinks this is the reason why Caicedo got over heated.

“He was really pumped up, I think we saw that right from the start of the of the game,” Carragher said on Sky Sports in words cited on X.

“I think the whole talk this week of Rice vs Caicedo maybe got to him, understandably so.”

He’ll learn from it

Caicedo will learn from this incident and get back on track right away, I have no doubts about that. He’s been superb for Chelsea and will only grow and get better from this.
