What about J.T. Realmuto’s desire for two years?

Yesterday morning, Jim Bowden, warmly referred to around these parts as Ralph, went on his radio show on Sirius XM and talked about J.T. Realmuto.

I find it interesting that this isn’t the first time Realmuto has been connected with a deal that is only two years in length. One would probably assume that he would want to cash in on a longer term contract, so maybe this is his idea of trying to get more teams involved in the bidding.

What do you think of Realmuto’s apparent desire for two years only? Is it really just for trying to get teams interested in his services? What if teams were really only interested in him on a one year deal? Teams might be thinking about getting him for one year before seeing what the next CBA looks like to see if they want to pay a catcher of his age. If it’s true that he only wants two years, my bet is that he gets signed first before Kyle Schwarber does.
