This has become a regularly scheduled post – Kaytron Allen was the standout player on Saturday for Penn State.
It happened again in his last regular season game in a Nittany Lion uniform as Allen saved his best rushing performance for his final game.

The senior, now the all-time leading rusher in Penn State football history, dominated throughout the day. He had a few explosive runs in the first quarter, including a touchdown scamper. In the fourth quarter, with the Lions clinging to a lead and needing a first down, he broke off a 55-yard run that helped Penn State salt away the game and earn bowl eligibility.
Early in the game, Allen became the first Penn State running back – obviously – to go for more than 4,000 career yards.
Also Considered
Running back Nicholas Singleton: Singleton set a pair of records of his own. He now has scored more touchdowns than any Penn State player in history, while also setting the program record for total yardage. Singleton teamed with Allen to help the Lions go over 300 yards rushing in a conference game since 2018.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLinebacker Amare Campbell: It was a rough day for the defense, but Campbell scooped up a fourth-quarter fumble and returned it 60 yards for the game-winning score.
Tight end Andrew Rappleyea: He was great as a blocker, but he’s emerged in the latter half of the season as a pass catcher. He had the long touchdown on Penn State’s first drive and iced the game with the fourth down catch in the closing seconds.
Kicker Ryan Barker: Barker made all of his kicks. He missed just one field goal on the entire season – and that was a kick that was blocked way back in non-conference play.
