If you love painting Warhammer 40,000, but perhaps like the idea of tackling something on a less eye-strainingly fiddly scale, then this Space Marine action figure is for you. Produced by McFarlane Toys, it's a nicely-detailed Space Marine Lieutenant in Phobos Armour, which you can now get at Amazon for $28 – marking a 20% discount on the $34.99 retail price.
Here's the fun part – it's an "Artist Proof" edition, which means that it comes in unpainted grey plastic, leaving it up to you to decide which of the many Adeptus Astartes chapters that it belongs to. You can find more great Games Workshop discounts on our Cyber Monday Warhammer deals hub.

McFarlane Toys - Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Lieutenant in Phobos Armor | $34.99 $28 at AmazonSave $6.99 - It's not the world's biggest discount, but it's still a nice deal one of these gorgeous and chunky Marines. If you've ever dreamed of really going to town with a paint job then this one is for you.

The Lieutenant is a 7-inch figure with "Ultra Articulation" (not Ultramarine articulation), which means that it has up to 22 moving parts. It comes with swappable guns in the form of a Bolt Pistol and Bolt Carbine, a knife which looks more like a small sword, plus an art card and display base.
The McFarlane Toys action figures are generally less intricately detailed than the 40K toys produced by JoyToy, but they're bigger, which especially suits the Artist Proof figures.
I've got one of these at home, which I went to town on painting it in the dark green and bone colors of the Dark Angels. The beauty of these Artist Proof figures, though, is that you can do whatever you like with them. If you like the orthodox Marine chapters you could go for the blue Ultramarines or the red Blood Angels. If you hate yourself and want to paint an entire 7-inch figure yellow (the most famously annoying color to work with because of its coverage issues) then you could do the Imperial Fists or the 41st millennium's favorite sad boyz the Lamenters.
You can also, of course, make up your own chapter from scratch – the larger scale of these figures makes them a great canvas for your ideas. Let's see your freehanded chapter symbols and company markings!
So yes, while Primaris Lieutenants may be more memes than Marines, these days, this is a really solid deal on a great figure that would make an ideal Christmas painting project for you or a friend.
