Week 13 brought another loss for the Las Vegas Raiders, as they fell to the Los Angeles Chargers and officially eliminated themselves from the playoffs. But let’s check in on a few old friends and see how Sunday fared for Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Clelin Ferrell.
Davante Adams
Game result: 28-31, Rams lose
Stats: 4 catches, 58 yards, 2 TDs
Matthew Stafford certainly didn’t look like the MVP favorite in Carolina, turning the ball over three times to contribute to Los Angeles’ first loss since Week 5. But Stafford did manage to find his top redzone target a couple of times, pushing Adams up to 14 touchdowns on the year. Those scores also allowed the wideout to pass Antonio Gates on the NFL’s All-Time receiving TDs list, as Adams now sits in seventh place with 117. His next goal is to pass Larry Fitzgerald, who has 121, and that’s attainable at this rate. Adams is on pace to have six more touchdowns for a career-high 20 this season.
While the Panthers also have a former Raider, safety Tre’von Moehrig, he wasn’t able to contribute to Carolina’s upset win after serving a suspension for punching San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Jauan Jennings in the groin on Monday night.
Jakobi Meyers
Game result: 25-3, Jaguars win
Stats: 6 catches, 90 yards, 1 TD
Even with Brian Thomas Jr. back in the lineup, Meyers still managed to be the Jaguars’ leading receiver. He and Trevor Lawrence have formed a strong connection, with 18 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns in four games for the receiver. This was also a big win for Jacksonville. With the Indianapolis Colts’ loss to the Houston Texans, the Jags are currently in first place for the AFC South. That sets up for a big matchup between the Colts and Jaguars next week.
Clelin Ferrell
Game result: 26-8, 49ers win
Stats: 9 tackles, 2 sacks
Ferrell has become an NFL journeyman, having played for three teams since leaving the Raiders in the 2023 offseason, including two stints with the 49ers. However, he’s been on a hot streak lately, finishing November with four sacks in the month. Sunday might have been the best performance of his career, as the former No. 4 overall pick led San Francisco in tackles and had two-thirds of the team’s sacks. With the Rams’ loss mentioned above, the 49ers are now a half-game out of the NFC West lead, heading into their bye week and then a matchup with the Titans.
