Accio LEGO! Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have officially announced that LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort will host the world’s first LEGO Harry Potter land, along with the first-ever Harry Potter–themed guest accommodation at any LEGOLAND park. This marks the first time Hogwarts and the wider Wizarding World will be reimagined entirely in LEGO form for a full blown location-based destination.
Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, called the project a defining moment for the company’s global ambitions:
“Partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences is the ultimate showcase of what we do best – transforming the world’s most iconic brands into memorable, immersive experiences for millions of guests. Our longstanding partnership with the LEGO Group has already delivered joyful moments of play for families, and now, by bringing the wizarding world to life in brick form at LEGOLAND, we’re raising the bar for creativity and innovation like never before.
"This partnership launches at our Resort in Germany and marks Merlin’s largest-ever single investment into an existing site, reflecting our strategy to prioritise locations with the greatest growth potential. I can’t wait to see our brilliant creative teams come together to bring this magical new land to life, enchanting fans with spellbinding adventures and iconic characters.”
A Magical New Way to Experience Harry Potter
Peter van Roden, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, highlighted why the partnership made sense:
“Working alongside Merlin Entertainments and the LEGO Group over the years has always led to unforgettable and unique experiences for fans, and we are thrilled to extend the partnership with one of our most beloved franchises.”
For van Roden, the goal is to create a tactile, story-driven experience for fans who’ve spent years building the Wizarding World in brick form at home:
“We are always looking for new ways for the millions of Harry Potter fans around the world to extend the magic and further connect with the iconic films. This new destination will allow fans to step into the familiar LEGO Harry Potter aesthetic they have been constructing for years and physically experience the wizarding world like never before.”
LEGOLAND Deutschland’s brick-built Hogwarts isn’t the only Potter project in development. Anew Harry Potter-themed land is also coming to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabion Yas Island. Announced in 2022 by Miral, the Middle East’s first Wizarding World land will featureiconic film locations, three new rides, shops, merchandise, and themed dining.
With a new TV series in the works, Harry Potter is as popular as ever and LEGOLAND will be the next to experience the magic.
