Texas is coming off a massive win over Texas A&M, largely behind an incredible performance from the Longhorn defense. There were plenty of defenders that made big plays throughout the game, but none were more productive throughout the contest than Ethan Burke. It seems the Southeastern Conference agrees, because Ethan Burke has been named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Burke was able to rack up a career-high nine tackles, a PBU, a blocked FG and a massive tackle in punt coverage on Friday night. He also was consistently putting pressure on Marcel Reed and setting the edge in the run game with authority. Ethan Burke led a defensive line that dominated the game from start to finish, leading to this conference-wide recognition.

This is the second career weekly honor of Ethan Burke’s career, and it came in what was likely his final game in Austin. Burke has been a major factor for the Longhorns all season, but finished on a strong note heading into his NFL Draft process.
