FOXBOROUGH, Mass. − The Giants defense was able to hold the Patriots to a field goal Monday night on their opening drive after giving up a 39-yard kickoff return to start the game.
But that's only part of the story as rookie Abdul Carter was not on the field, with Chauncey Golston starting opposite Brian Burns and Tomon Fox also seeing action before the No. 3 overall pick.

Of course, Carter was benched several weeks ago for missing a walkthrough. He missed the first series and played the rest of the game.
