There are no trap games on Mike Vrabel's watch.

The New England Patriots coach watched from the sidelines as his team punished the visiting New York Giants in a 33-15 victory.

Cornerback/returner Marcus Jones got the party started by returning a punt 94 yards to the house for the Patriots' first touchdown of the game. That return should guarantee Jones earns the second All-Pro nod of his NFL career. He is a walking highlight reel on the football field who tends to make opponents pay more often than not for kicking the ball in his direction.

On the offensive side of the ball, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was hotter than fish grease in the pocket. One of the best plays of the game, outside of Jones' touchdown return, was Maye's 33-yard corner touchdown throw to rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams.

Maye finished the game going 24-of-31 passing for 282 yards and two touchdowns. His pinpoint accuracy fueled his MVP argument in a week when Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, in a loss to the Carolina Panthers.

The Patriots' defense created problems for Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart all game long, holding him to only 139 yards passing. It was easily one of the worst performances in his short NFL career. On top of getting shut down, he also took a vicious hit on the sideline by Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss.

However, when it came to getting hit by Elliss, Giants returner Gunner Olszewski was on the receiving end of the hardest hit of the night, which resulted in a fumble and turnover.

This was a statement performance by the Patriots.

They could have easily fallen off with both their starting left tackle, Will Campbell, and starting left guard, Jared Wilson, out for the game. Yet, Maye didn't miss a beat in an offense that went from being one of the worst in football to one of the most explosive.

The Patriots will get a much-needed bye week after earning their 10th straight win and improving to 11-2 on the season. They will have a monster rematch awaiting them on the other side of the break with Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills coming to town in Week 15.
