The Ben Johnson-led Bears might just be the talk of the NFL as of right now. They’re now 9-3 atop the NFC North, and leading the entire NFC thanks to a win from the Carolina Panthers over the LA Rams this last week.

Ben Johnson is sure fired up about the Bears’ success, as are the people of Chicago. The jury is still out, however, whether that excitement from the fans is more based on the team’s success or the free hot dogs Johnson secured for the city last Friday.

Probably a healthy mix of both.

We are looking at the Chicago Bears, who have won 9 out of their last 10 and look like they might be a force. At the beginning of the year, though, it was a different story.

Bears have done exactly what Ben Johnson said since the bye week

When the Bears entered their bye week in Week 5, they were 2-2 and just fresh off of squeaking by an atrocious Las Vegas Raiders team by the skin of their teeth. A blocked FG away from an embarrassing loss.

Going into the bye at 2-2, they had a legitimate chance to look themselves in the mirror and speak who they wanted to be as a team into existence. That’s exactly what Ben Johnson did.

Coming out of the bye week, Johnson said, “We’ve got to get the run game going.” Since then, the Bears' running game has taken off, now ranking 2nd in the NFL.

He also mentioned a few weeks ago that they have to clean up penalties. Since then, the Bears have averaged 5.7 penalties per game, which would rank 7th best in the NFL.

This week, Johnson commented on the struggles of both Caleb Williams and Chicago’s passing game as a whole. “Everyone has a role to play to get this pass game cleaned up."

The Bears' passing game has struggled this season. Whether it’s drops from the WRs or poor reads from Caleb Williams, it’s struggled.

If the trend of Ben Johnson’s press conference comments going from his mouth to God’s ears continues, look for Caleb Williams to record some ungodly stats through the rest of the season.
