It feels like every single Chelsea player took a moment to speak to the TV cameras after the draw with Arsenal on Sunday, and we can understand why. They can be very proud of their efforts.

Following Joao Pedro and Reece James, Malo Gusto also stepped up to chat to the media after the 1-1 draw. He picked out one thing his team had done as “incredible.”

“It was a good point and an important point to show we can compete in this type of game,” the Frenchman said in his chat with the club’s official website.

“The teamwork was incredible. With ten against 11 it was a bit tough for us, but we dealt with it and showed even with ten players we can compete. That is what we did and I am proud of the team.

“Arsenal are the best team at the moment but we showed we are as a great team as well. There was a lot of intensity. We had to show we had more desire. There are things we have to improve still, and we will do this for the next game. We want to show our best every time. We are where we are because we deserve to be there, and the season is long.

“It’s our job to keep going in this way, keep improving and keep doing our best every game.”

In other news…

Joao Pedro noted that Robert Sanchez had had a really good game for the Blues in goal, and had a major hand in the draw (which did feel like a win, in the circumstances).

JP also spoke a bit about the team’s performance in general and made it pretty clear that they were offended by the fact that Arsenal were considered favourites on Friday when the two teams faced off.
