Barcelona are already looking ahead to the summer of 2026, and once again, Director of Football Deco will be considering ways in which he can raise money to give the club more room for manoeuver in the market. The Blaugrana are likely to be over their salary limit again next summer as things stand, meaning that their spending capacity will hinge significantly on savings and sales.
The Catalan giants received interest for a number of their players last summer, including Fermin Lopez and Gerard Martin, but few showed much desire to move on. Their main departures came in the form of Pau Victor and Inigo Martinez, with Alex Valle, Pablo Torre and Clement Lenglet also providing light relief for their accounts.

Vice-captain Ronald Araujo will be up for sale, as per The Athletic. The Uruguayan defender lost his place last season after injury, and has struggled to get it back, with a series of high-profile errors not helping his case. It is noted that there are doubts about interested clubs being willing to cover his high wages, and Araujo’s desire to leave, after signing an extension until 2030 last January. He recently requested a leave of absence to mentally get himself back on track.

Marc Casado running out of opportunities to prove worth
The club also seemed willing to let Marc Casado leave for around €30m last summer, and he will be the master of his own future again, having decided to stay. Manager Hansi Flick was also in favour of Casado remaining at Camp Nou, but he has seen a dramatic decline in his minutes this season, which could change matters.

Veterans Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen are also out of contract next summer. As things stand, Barcelona do not look likely to offer them new contracts, meaning they will be on the hunt for a central defender and a centre-forward next summer.
Barcelona may have missed the boat for sales
Bringing in a major offer for Casado or Araujo may be difficult next summer, with their stocks on the decline this season. Barcelona have turned down offers in the last couple of seasons for Araujo, but now separated by multiple seasons from his best form, less clubs will be willing to put up big money for him.

However in 2026, he has looked a long way removed from that form, and Barcelona may also face a significant reduction in the fee they might have gotten for him last summer.
