Released in two volumes between 2003-04, Kill Bill starred Uma Thurman as The Bride, a deadly assassin out for revenge on the five people who betrayed her. It is considered a classic of the action genre and a new edit of the entire saga, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, is being released this Friday (December 5).

In addition, Tarantino and Thurman worked with Fortnite to make Yuki’s Revenge, a short film animated with the Unreal game engine that tells a lost chapter from the original film.

At the premiere of the short at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles, the director took part in a Q&A, where he was asked if there was anything more to come from the Kill Bill universe.

“We’ll see” he replied (via Pop Culture News). “I’ve got other things to do … I have a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind but I was wiped out. I like the idea of a Bill origin. And the three godfathers that made Bill: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzo. Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen.”

Thurman praised the recent short, describing it as “really moving”. However, fans were much more critical of the short, which censored the iconic Pussy Wagon truck from the movie, and added the character Peely to the film’s universe.

In other news, Quentin Tarantino recently criticised the author of The Hunger Games for “ripping off” action classic Battle Royale. “I do not understand how the Japanese writer didn’t sue Suzanne Collins for every fucking thing she owns,” he told the Bret Easton Ellis Podcast. “They just ripped off the fucking book!”
