Pro Bowl voting is in full swing, with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero releasing the top 10 vote-getters at each position so far on Monday morning:

The Steelers aren’t one of the top teams receiving votes, but they’re better represented than you might think:

  • Ben Skowronek, second-highest, special teams

  • T.J. Watt, third-highest, outside linebacker

  • Connor Heyward, fifth-highest, fullback

  • Jalen Ramsey, eighth-highest, free safety

  • Chris Boswell, 10th-highest, kicker

Of course, that’s just fan voting. Players and coaches will also have a say later in the process ahead of the Pro Bowl Games, which will begin Feb. 1.

You can cast your Pro Bowl ballot here.

Should any Steelers make the Pro Bowl this year?

Will some Steelers make the 2026 Pro Bowl Games? Absolutely.

With the number of players who sit the event out and are replaced, as well as an extremely un-scientific voting process, a lot more players make it every year than there should be. Name recognition matters a lot too, and Pittsburgh still has a bevy of household names including T.J. Watt, Jalen Ramsey, and Cam Heyward.

But should any Pittsburgh players make the games?

There aren’t many, if any, Steelers playing near the top echelon of their position this year. Kicker Chris Boswell hasn’t shown any signs of regression from his first-team All-Pro season in 2024, but he hasn’t attempted a field goal in two weeks and has three misses this season (two weren’t his fault, but his overall numbers this year have been middling).

On the offensive line, Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu have been playing good football for the Steelers. But neither have great name recognition at this point in their careers, and being on a subpar offense recently hasn’t helped much.

Defensively, the Steelers’ trio of outside linebackers also deserve a mention, but it’s a talented position league-wide. Watt leads the team with seven sacks, good enough for just 15th in the NFL.

In the special-teamer category, Ben Skowronek is deserving of the votes he’s received. It’s hard to quantify who exactly the top players in that phase of the game are across the league, but Skowronek has excelled as a dirty work player for Pittsburgh during his time on the team.

The takeaway? There’s not an extreme shortage of young, upcoming talent on the Steelers — names such as Frazier, Fautanu, Darnell Washington, and Derrick Harmon, to name a few, are ascending talents who could certainly land a Pro Bowl nod down the road.

But the players the Steelers are expecting to be surefire Pro Bowlers aren’t putting together the seasons they’re being paid to have.
