Arsenal are out to continue their seemingly unstoppable title charge as they welcome Brentford to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event, kicking off at 7:30pm. After their weekend draw with Chelsea, the Gunners sit five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table – although that lead could be cut to two points prior to kick-off if the Citizens beat Fulham on Tuesday night.

Arsenal team news vs Brentford

Arsenal could be missing both of their first-choice centre backs for another London derby here as William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes were forced to sit out of the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian is expected to miss a few more weeks after picking up an injury while on international duty last month, but Saliba’s absence came as a surprise to Gunners’ fans after he suffered a knock in training the day before the trip to Chelsea.

The extent of the injury seems relatively small-scale with boss Mikel Arteta suggesting that the Frenchman will be available again in a matter of days – but that leaves his involvement in this particular clash up in the air.

In attack, Arteta is hoping to welcome Kai Havertz back into the fold in the coming weeks but this home fixture may prove to come too soon for him while Leandro Trossard could return to the squad after being left out as a precaution over the weekend.

This match may be seen as an opportunity for Arteta to rotate his squad. Arsenal have had a difficult fixture list to contend with of late having faced London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea in their last two Premier League games with a Champions League win over Bayern Munich sandwiched in between those games.

As such, the likes of Ben White, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Noni Madueke will hope to gain rare starts against the Bees.

The latest run of fixtures may have been seen as a tough run for Arsenal, but the emerged largely unscathed with a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League in tact despite the weekend draw against ten-man Chelsea.

Injuries to key centre-backs plus tough fixtures against the likes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea could have spelled trouble for Mikel Arteta’s men, but they continue to push ahead at an incredible pace.

Not only are they sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table, the North London side have also enjoyed a perfect Champions League campaign so far and occupy top spot in that table too as the only team to have won all five of their matches thus far.

The 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 17 games in all competitions, with their last defeat coming to Liverpool at Anfield all the way back in August.

With players coming back to fitness to add more dimensions to Arteta’s deep squad, chasing them down at the top of the table is starting to look like an insurmountable task for the inconsistent Manchester City, while questions over Chelsea and Aston Villa’s lack of quality remain.
