With every Ulrich Hoeneß interview comes a lot of open, honest information. Last time the honorary Bayern Munich president spoke to the media, he clarified the Nicolas Jackson obligation and how Bayern were not likely to fulfill it. This time, Hoeneß confirmed the existence of Harry Kane’s rumored release clause but paired it with expressing the club’s desire to extend with the England captain and a roast of London, of course:
“He’s had a release clause until the end of January of every year. We assume that he will definitely fulfill his contract until 2027. And if it were up to us – and I’ve heard he wants it too – then he will extend,” Hoeneß explained to German news site Bild, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “His family feels very comfortable. In Munich, you can still go about your business in peace. Harry Kane only ever worked with bodyguards at home (in London). You don’t necessarily need that kind of life.”

Fortunately, every sign from the former Tottenham Hotspur player seems to point to how happy he is in Munich. With Hoeneß confirming the club’s desire to see him stay, it looks as if the two sides have a strong starting base for contract negotiations.
