Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his second career NFL start on Sunday, falling to the San Francisco 49ers with a 26-8 final score.
Sanders, the Browns' fifth-round rookie draft pick, completed 16 of his 25 pass attempts for 149 yards and one touchdown in the loss. The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback is now 1-1 as an NFL starter following Week 12's 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
While the Browns were unable to notch their second victory with Sanders at the helm, head coach Kevin Stefanski is still encouraged by some things he's seen from the rookie signal caller.
“There are things that he wants back that we’re coaching up right now that he can improve upon,” Stefanski said. “But bottom line is we have to continue to put our players in position to succeed. For the young quarterback, you only get better with more turns at this thing in these games, as you see more coverages, as you see more defenses and as you prepare versus different defenses. So just looking forward to that constant improvement with Shedeur and for all of our young players.”

Stefanski added that Sanders has the "right attitude" heading into his third consecutive start against the Tennessee Titans.
“He wants to continue to get better and better, and that’s the right attitude to have, and that’s why we’ll continue to work,” Stefanski said.
Sanders took accountability after Sunday's loss to the 49ers.
"Obviously we lost, so I ain't play well," Sanders said. "There's definitely things on film I'm going to look back and want to get back and want to see but at least moving forward I know what we could do differently going about the week and being able to get fully, fully prepared for every possibility."
Sanders and the Browns will face off against No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward and the Titans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
