When Adrian Hamilton entered high school, there was one offer he dreamed of earning: Michigan. It didn’t come early, but Hamilton kept working. He committed to Virginia Tech in July and felt solid with the Hokies — until Michigan offered in October. That changed things a little then. His official visit to Ann Arbor this past weekend changed things a lot.
“It is like a dream coming true,” Hamilton told Rivals. “Michigan was my dream school. On my official visit, when I was on the field before the game, I just felt it. Then I watched the game, saw what the atmosphere was like, spent time with Coach Newsome after the game and I knew I wanted to be at Michigan.”

The three-star out of St. John’s College in Washington, D.C. entered the visit familiar with Michigan’s history and tradition, but the experience exceeded anything he expected.
“It was everything I thought it would be — even better. I had never been part of an atmosphere like that. 113,000 people were there and it was rocking. It was a tough loss, but seeing the game, hearing the crowd, and being there made me want to be a part of Michigan.
“During the game, I was daydreaming about it. Seeing myself on the field… being a Wolverine. It was awesome taking it all in.

Hamilton is excited about who he will play for at Michigan
One of the biggest selling points for Hamilton was the coaching staff — particularly head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome, two former offensive linemen deeply invested in the trenches.
“Coach Sherrone Moore is a great guy,” Hamilton said. “He’s been there, he has achieved a lot, and he is adamant about making the program great,” Hamilton said. “Coach Moore cares about the players and the school so much. I love how he used to coach the offensive line too. He hangs with the offensive linemen the most, and I look forward to playing for him.”

“Coach Newsome played at Michigan; he came back to coach there, and he cares a lot about the program and the people in it. He is very hands-on and he’s great at coaching and developing. Watching film with him was great and I loved talking football with him. I know he can do a lot with me when I get there. I love the scheme too.”
