  • Apple Music Replay 2025 has landed before Spotify Wrapped
  • Any subscriber can access it in the Music app or on the web
  • It'll highlight top tracks, top artists, and genres as a start

Rather than following in the footsteps of Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music is getting ahead with its annual Replay. It is, of course, the Cupertino-based tech giant’s take on the classic sharing of stats for all the tunes you’ve listened to this year, your top artists, and some stats that will likely surprise you and maybe catch some eyes.

While Spotify Wrapped is generally seen as the gold standard, albeit with some missteps, Apple Music Replay 2025 really hits the basics, with some extra stats thrown in. You can also easily access the Replay experience via the Music app on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or even on the web.

One note: if you try to access it on macOS, it will jump you to the web experience, though the year recap playlist is available natively.

I was greeted to it, front and center, in the top row of the Music app on my iPhone, and I especially love the moving gradient of colors that “Replay: Your music story is here.” is set against.

From there, you’re transported to a simple Replay interface that invites you to start with a highlight reel and then scroll down for your top artists, tracks, albums, playlists, and genres of 2025. You can also dive further back into previous years or see 2025 month by month.

Apple Music’s approach with the highlight reel doesn’t assign you a music genre or personality type; rather, it sticks to the numbers. The first slide runs through the main stats with album covers flying through, and total listening time before taking you into the artist you’ve been most loyal to – shocker, that’s Bruce Springsteen for me. It’ll then run through top tracks, top albums, and even genres month by month before inviting you to share it to Instagram for Stories or Reels, as well as TikTok.

The biggest change from previous years, though, is that you can now get more actionable, insightful trends from the month. Of course, you can also dive right into your Replay playlist for your top songs. It also fits into Apple Music’s monthly recaps, which it has offered for a bit – something I’d like to see Spotify copy at some point, but Last.fm will make do for that.

Of course, if you have a setup like mine, where you’re spread across different music streaming services – Apple Music, Spotify, and Nugs are mine – one service doesn’t necessarily paint the entire picture. And Apple Music doesn’t do the best job of integrating iTunes Match picks either, but while it’s not a massive redesign, there’s no doubting that Apple Music Replay 2025 hits the classic notes with some updated theming.

Even with the polish around Apple Music’s year-end recap, it’s safe to say we’re curious how Spotify might raise the bar with Wrapped 2025. Yes, we can all assume we’ll get traits based on the music we listen to, a personality genre delivered as a character, and maybe even a short video recording from our top artist or artists. Spotify even offered an AI-generated podcast last year that unpacked each user’s Wrapped; we’ll see if that sticks around for 2025.

I think it’s safe to say it will certainly be a bit more flashy, ready with memes, and all over social platforms soon enough.
