Despite the year coming to a close, Google is pushing out some last-minute software updates to its devices. There's a new update for Android 16, along with Android's December 2025 Security Bulletin. If that wasn't enough, Google is also dropping Recaps for YouTube Music and YouTube, while sharing what people watched on Google TV in 2025.

As you can imagine, there's a lot to process here, especially if you're someone that's deep within Google's ecosystem. On top of all of that, we're now getting a December 2025 update for Pixel devices as well (via 9to5Google). This is going to be an important one as it brings a lot of improvements and fixes.

Some major fixes, and also some smaller ones

We won't copy the complete list of fixes verbatim here, but we will pull some of the bigger ones and highlight them. If you want to check out the full list, you can always head to the Google support page to see all the details. This update is going to be available for all Pixel 6, 7, 8, Pixel 9 and 10 devices.

So, if you've bought a Pixel phone in the last few years, this update applies to your device. Perhaps the biggest change is that Pixel phones will no longer display a question mark when plugging into charge. It was unclear why this was happening at the time on certain phones, but we now know that it was just a software issue that needed to be addressed.

Pixel phones will now respect the 80% charge limits that are set, and there will also be improvements made when connecting Bluetooth accessories to the phone. The update will also address display issues, where there was some abnormal behavior, and it also addresses some audio crashes as well.

The update also brings a variety of fixes to enhance the stability of the OS, along with network connections and connectivity as well. Google also made a ton of UI fixes, and also improved how fingerprint unlocking works in certain conditions. Overall, not a bad update to arrive on Pixel phones.

How to get it

If you're curious about this update, there really isn't anything special that needs to be done to download it. Just head into your Settings menu and check to see if there is a software update available. This update will be available in different regions and on many Pixel devices. If you have a supported Pixel phone, we recommend grabbing this update.
