It's looking less and less likely the Texas Longhorns will be included in the college football playoff bracket. UT's three losses will keep it out of the tournament. That means Texas (9-3) will be playing in an old fashioned bowl game. But where? And against who?
USA TODAY Sports is out with its Bowl Projections and they forecast the Longhorns playing a familiar foe in the Sunshine State. USA TODAY's Erick Smith projects Texas to play the Michigan Wolverines in the Citrus Bowl at Orlando's Camping World Stadium.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe matchup would be a rematch of last year's battle in Ann Arbor where the Longhorns beat Michigan 31-12. The Citrus Bowl would welcome two old-school traditional blue bloods to Orlando. Michigan and Texas are also original public ivy schools.
The Wolverines are also 9-3 after losing to rival Ohio State for the first time since 2019. Michigan also has losses to USC and Oklahoma.
Notes: Not all conferences will fulfill their bowl allotment. An asterisk represents a replacement pick. Legacy Pac-12 schools in other conferences will fulfill existing Pac-12 bowl agreements through the 2025 season.
