Spoiler Alert: This list contains spoilers for All Her Fault. The soapy new mystery thriller All Her Fault on Peacock takes viewers on a wild ride through the case of a missing young boy, his terrified parents, and the cracks within their family dynamic as truths boil to the surface. The limited series is wonderfully acted with plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to the screen for its eight-episode run.
Incredible actors portray their characters wonderfully, even if some of them are downright awful people. They each add something unique to the narrative. At the heart of the story are the challenges and pressures on working mothers, and the message is brought home effectively thanks to the portrayal of every character, good and bad.
10 Richie Kaminski
Played by Thomas Cocquerel

Richie (Thomas Cocquerel) is the epitome of the laissez-faire dad. He's a high school teacher who clearly views his wife's job as unimportant, despite the fact it's likely paying higher than his. He also acts like any time he has to spend alone with their son is an inconvenience. His attitude is what really drives home Jenny's stresses, some of his comments shocking and arrogant.
At times, the character is an exaggerated version of the unsupportive husband and "fill-in" dad. Thomas Cocquerel takes it to new heights in one pivotal phone call scene and that major park scene when everything comes to a head. His character is a wake-up call for dads who might see some of themselves in him.
9 Lia Irvine
Played by Abby Elliott

Abby Elliott shines in shows like The Bear and her role in this show adds heart to the plot. A recovering drug addict, she has lived her entire life with guilt over the belief that she permanently disabled her brother during an accident when they were kids. How these feelings manifest in insecurities shows throughout every scene.
But Lia is also kind, helpful, and wants to do right by everyone. She's lost as a person, and you can't help but sympathize with her for what she has gone through. What's great about Lia is that she has come out on the other side stronger, despite others seemingly trying to keep her down.
8 Colin Dobbs
Played by Jay Ellis

Colin (Jay Ellis) seems like a good friend to both Marissa (Sarah Snook) and Peter (Jake Lacy), and the fact that he immediately steps in to take over clients for Marissa while she focuses on finding her son shows that he cares. While he has his own demons, there's something genuine about him. He's someone you can rely on in a pinch, even if he has made horrendous mistakes.
His final valiant moment in trying to protect the friends he calls family proved that he was a stand-up guy. Jay Ellis plays him in such a way that even though you know he has done wrong, you can't help but root for Colin to make up for his sins and move on. He's a man with vices that got in the way, but who deserves redemption.
7 Brian Irvine
Played by Daniel Monks

Brian Irvine (Daniel Monks) is one of the strongest characters on the show, a man who became permanently disabled following a tragic accident when he was a child. It's evident that from the beginning, his older brother Peter is not just helping him but also holding him down. The scene when Brian learns the truth and zooms around the house angrily in the wheelchair is heart-wrenching.
He has so much strength and resilience. The fact that he always accepted his condition without blaming his sister showed that he never wanted her to feel the way she did for so many years. His happy ending is one of the joys of the show's conclusion.
6 Esther
Played by Linda Cropper

There's something so instantly comforting about Esther (Linda Cropper), an older retired woman who Marissa first meets when she arrives to pick up Milo (Duke McCloud) and realizes that Jenny (Dakota Fanning) and Jacob (Tayden Jax Ryan) don't live there. Her warmness and sweetness shine through. Even when fans are initially suspicious that she might have something to do with the kidnapping, they can't reconcile that she could possibly be involved in a sinister way.
Esther turns out to be just as wonderful as expected, a woman who jumps in with two feet to help. She instantly goes to the police when she realizes that someone involved is a person she knows intimately. The way the story ends for her is downright perfect.
5 Jenny Kaminski
Played by Dakota Fanning

While the story centers around Marissa and her journey, Dakota Fanning is a scene-stealer as Jenny. She's the perfect representation of a working mother trying desperately to balance it all while not getting much help, and secretly seething while trying to keep it all together. From her husband's dismissal of the importance of her job to Sarah (Melanie Vallejo) constantly asking Jenny to join the volunteer committee for the school, you can just feel that Jenny is going to snap at any minute.
The way she holds her feelings in, lets them out at times in a calm and patient manner, and often backtracks just to keep the peace, is so relatable. Seeing her finally come into her own by the end is satisfying. She stands up for herself and realizes that doing it alone is better than doing it with someone who cares and respects her.
4 Carrie Finch
Played by Sophia Lillis

Sophia Lillis is fabulous in the role of Carrie, a seemingly sweet and kind nanny who ends up kidnapping the young Milo for reasons unknown. She's painted as a monster, a disturbed young woman. The scenes from her past and the interactions with her mother have fans gasping at her treatment and the dismissal of her potential mental health issues.
When the truth is revealed in the end, fans have a tough time reconciling whether Carrie is a bad person or not. She makes viewers feel such a mix of emotions, one of the most compelling on screen to watch, as she wears various masks to fulfill her ultimate plan.
3 Peter Irvine
Played by Jake Lacy
Jake Lacy sits looking concerned in All Her Fault.Image via Peacock
Jake Lacy has become one of the most recognizable faces on TV in this genre, having appeared in both The White Lotus and Apples Never Fall. His character in this series, however, takes things to a whole new level. He's the most challenging character to read, a husband who seems to value and appreciate his wife and who wants to spend time with his son. Yet when it comes to the day-to-day, he is never there when she truly needs him to accommodate her schedule. He seems present yet absent at the same time, kind yet dismissive.
Lacy plays Peter in such a way that fans simply can't figure out his motivations and what's manipulation and what isn't. That's precisely the point, as it's the same issue people face in real life with individuals like Peter. He's one of the most complex characters on the show, and his ending is downright explosive.
2 Detective Jim Alcaras
Played by Michael Peña

Detective Alcaras (Michael Peña) is the heart of the show, a great TV detective looking into Milo's case and feeling the pain of the parents. The glimpse into his personal life with his wife and his developmentally delayed, non-verbal son Sam (Orlando Ivanovic) really demonstrates his dedication and genuineness as a person. The side story about him trying to get his son into a proper school that can help him thrive is eye-opening, especially his refusal (initially) to compromise his principles to do it.
In the end, the unfairness of the world comes into full view, and he does what he has to do. Still, Jim isn't the type of blame every wealthy person for the broken system. It's not a "me versus you" mentality for him, it's the good people versus a broken system. He's the type of character who serves as a moral center, even when he makes a perceptively immoral decision.
1 Marissa Irvine
Played by Sarah Snook

From the moment Marissa realizes her son isn't at the supposed home of a school friend, any parent can feel the terror and panic radiating through her bones. Sarah Snook plays the emotional rollercoaster the character goes on so convincingly, it's in large part why the show is so bingeable: you simply want to get to the part where she feels relief and finds her son.
Every revelation of Marissa's life, about her business partner and best friend, her husband, her child, is easily one that could completely break a person. Yet the strength Marissa shows through it all along with the desperation and terror is palpable. It's a challenge to imagine anyone else in the role but Snook.
