The Buffalo Bills got back on the winner's list against the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-7, and it was the first time the Bills Mafia got to see veteran receiver Brandin Cooks.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHaving been signed earlier in the week, Cooks wasn't likely to play a lot on Sunday, but it didn't take him long to make an impact, with Josh Allen connecting with Brandin on a 13-yard completion on third down on Buffalo's first drive of the game.
That would be Cooks' only catch and target on the day as the run game took over, playing just 17 snaps.
But for offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Brandin has been nothing but excellent since he got inside the building.
“He's a pro through and through,” Brady said. “I've obviously learned a lot about him, but you don't play as long as he has without the work ethic and approach he has. He came in with energy, probably with the way the game ended up going, didn't play as many plays as he was ready to play."

Cooks making big impression
For a player to come in midweek, and not only make a play, but look good doing it on a few days' notice, that takes something special.
Allen has mentioned how quickly Cook learned the offensive playbook, which is impressive, and Brady has already seen firsthand how Brandin goes about his business.
"You see him in between practice sessions working on his craft before practice, after practice, he's a pros pro," Brady added. "He's going to be great for the room, big for our football team. Big first down of the game, it was good to get him out there, and you feel Josh trust him. I'm excited that he's here.”
