Injured during the clash between Crystal Palace and Manchester United last Sunday, Ismaïla Sarr is at risk of missing AFCON 2025 with Senegal's Lions of Teranga.

Ismaïla Sarr's participation in AFCON 2025 in Morocco with Senegal is highly uncertain. The Senegalese winger suffered a ligament injury to his ankle after an awkward landing against Manchester United (1-2) on Sunday in the Premier League and will miss at least the next two games against Burnley and Fulham. The English club is now awaiting further tests to refine the diagnosis.

"The ligaments are not completely torn but there are issues, and the ankle is very swollen," explained Oliver Glasner during a press conference. The Austrian coach, playing it safe, mentioned a wide range of scenarios: Sarr could return just before AFCON to play one or two matches or potentially miss the tournament entirely.
