The heat of the summer may have died down for many of us around the globe, but the genre of steamy teen dramas continues to spice things up on Prime Video. Although more adult-centered content might be making its way up the streamer’s Top 10 chart, with Malice and Fallout doing their best to claim the crown, the two crowd favorites at this time both point to a younger primary viewership demographic. According to FlixPatrol, Maxton Hall: The World Between Us and The Summer I Turned Pretty are currently in first and second places in the Top 10, respectively. While it might not be much of a surprise that the former is the crowned ruler for now, the fact that the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty came out nearly three months ago proves the production’s massive fan base and staying power.
Celebrating its Season 2 premiere in early November, the German language series, Maxton Hall: The World Between Us came back bigger and brighter than ever. Well-pressed uniforms and perfectly coiffed hair joined the students at the titular school where they returned for another year of learning, studying, and — most importantly — drama. The follow-up season showcased the growing relationship between Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung) and threw plenty of obstacles at the young couple along the way. Seeing as how the debut installment broke records for Prime Video, it’s no shock as to how or why the series has had a stronghold on the Top 10 for several weeks.
Meanwhile, it seems like audiences are still longing for another summer at Cousins Island following the series finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which officially went dark at Prime Video on September 17. We certainly won’t spoil things for you here, but Belly (Lola Tung) finally makes the painstaking and hardest decision of her life between Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) after three seasons of ups and downs, desire, and heartache.
What’s Next For Prime Video’s Hottest Teen Dramas?
The good news for all those yearning for more to the story following the recent Season 2 finale of Maxton Hall: The World Between Us, is that the show has already been given the go-ahead for a Season 3. The decision came down long before the doors swung open on the sophomore installment, with Prime Video making the announcement early last summer. Meanwhile, although we may not be seeing the gang from The Summer I Turned Pretty in small-screen, episodic form anytime soon, there is still more to the story with a feature-length film officially in the works.
