The Cleveland Browns have just announced that they’ve opened Deshaun Watson’s 21-day activity window today. This means that he’ll either have to be fully activated or designated to remain on IR for the rest of the year within the next three weeks.
This shouldn’t necessarily be surprising, as it was bound to happen at some point in 2025. This doesn’t mean that the Browns are saying they still have confidence in him or that he’s back as Cleveland’s quarterback of the future; it just means that he’s officially healthy enough to start practicing again.

In reality, this isn’t anything for the fanbase to be concerned about, as it most likely doesn’t change anything going forward. Everyone has already seen how Watson’s performed when at the helm, and selecting a top quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft is still very much on the table.
