The Kansas City Chiefs have provided an injury update on left tackle Josh Simmons and it's bad news.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSimmons sustained a wrist injury in the Week 13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving that was later diagnosed as a dislocation and fracture.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed on Wednesday that Simmons needed surgery to repair his wrist injury and is now headed to injured reserve.
"Chiefs coach Andy Reid says LT Josh Simmons had surgery on his wrist. He's been placed on IR," The Athletic's Jesse Newell reported.
With Simmons going on injured reserve this week, the earliest he can return is in Week 18, when the Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
But it remains to be seen if he'll even be ready to return at that point.
