The Bears and Caleb Williams have a chance to get the top seed in the NFC and make a real run at the Super Bowl. This is remarkable:

The Chicago Bears were winning while still trying to figure things out. Now it appears everything is coming into place for this team, and that is scary for the rest of the NFL. The Bears' win against the Eagles should have put the entire league on notice. Unfortunately for the league, this team is just getting started and only going to get healthier and better from here on out.

Here are my takeaways from the Bears' first creditable win this season over the Philadelphia Eagles:

The Bears have the best offensive line in football

The Bears completely dominated the Eagles for 60 minutes. The Eagles are known for a tough physical defense line, one that makes it nearly impossible to run the ball effectively. That did not seem to matter much for the Chicago Bears. The Bears ran for 281 yards total and had two 100-yard rushers. This team has a new identity, and it is one that entails bullying your opponent for 4 quarters. The Bears now have a run game that allows them to run whenever they want to, against any defense. That is an indictment mostly of how good this offensive line has been. Darnell Wright is the only returning starter, but this offensive line has played very well together. The Bears are more dominant in the run game in terms of blocking, but this season. However, there has still been a huge improvement in total sacks given up. Last year, Caleb Williams was sacked 68 times; this season, he has only been brought down 17 times in 11 games. This offensive line has been one that fans have been waiting for and one that this organization has been waiting for.

Ben Johnson should be the coach of the year favorite

Many people expected the Bears to show improvement this season, but not too many expected the Bears to be sitting at the top of the NFC North. Many probably thought this season would end in disaster after the disastrous 0-2 start. The Bears have just kept winning, and game by game have killed the old narratives that have haunted this team for many years. The NFC North is a tough division, and any year you can come out on top of, there should be some recognition for that. In Ben Johnson's case, winning it in his first year should earn him Coach of the Year. Ben Johnson's most important job was to get Caleb where he needed to be, and while Caleb has not been what Drake Maye is, the good things he did in his rookie season have been highlighted, like his clutch play, and he has improved game by game. It is only a matter of time until she really gets going. Even with him still developing, Ben Johnson has brought this team to a 9-3 record. Ben Johnson has lived up to everything he was said to be, and already in year 1, he is being brought up in conversation with some of the best offensive mid head coaches in the NFL, in Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay. The Bears could not have made a better decision.

The Bears might have exposed how to stop the tush push

The one time the Eagles ran the infamous tush push, it resulted in a takeaway by Nahshon Wright. More than likely, Wright got inspiration from Kayvon Thibodeaux's play against the Eagles when the Giants matched up with them, which did not have the same result. Just like Wright Thibodeaux lined up on the edge and just made a play to steal the ball from Jalen Hurts instead of trying to push back the pile. On his attempt, the Eagles got a break with a forward progress ruling. Nahshon Wright was able to rip the ball right out of Jalen Hurts' hands, giving the Bears a key stop after a Caleb Williams interception. There may be even more teams that take a look at that play and try the same tactics. If there is more success with this, who knows, it could be Nahshon Wright and the Bears that put an end to the tush push.

It was nice to see the Bears secondary healthy

Both Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon returned to action, and they were on limited snaps, but for a short sample size, you could really see how good this secondary can be. Jaylon Johnson had a nice breakup across the middle, and this Eagles offense struggled mightily. I think this defense came out with more confidence and executed to another level, having their reinforcements back. Even with the return of the Bears' top two corners, that did not stop Kevin Byard and Nahshon Wright from still getting takeaways as they did in the absence of Gordon and Jaylon Johnson. This secondary will be even more dangerous for the rest of the season, boding well for the Bears' chances to win important games down the stretch.

It is time to take the Bears serious

The Bears have now controlled the NFC North for a third straight week. Obviously, barely beating teams like the Saints, Giants, and the Bengals without Joe Burrow are not wins that will have the league taking you seriously. Beating the Eagles in the way the Bears did should be the victory that is a warning to the rest of the NFL. The Bears' offensive line and their run game keep them in a game with just about any team in the league. The defense is getting takeaways at a high, consistent rate without even being fully healthy. Everything with this team is trending in the right direction. They have one of the best coaches in the NFL, crazy to say already in this short sample size. Many may overlook the Bears and heavily favor the Packers in next Sunday's game. That would be a big mistake, as the Bears' run game might have a field day against the Packers. The Bears' defense's stretch of games was going to prove exactly what this team was, and so far, if they can contend in year 1, they look like the second-best team in the NFC.
