Fallout is officially streaming for free this month before season 2 finally arrives. Prime Video's post-apocalyptic drama, based on the Bethesda video game franchise, premiered in April 2024 and was promptly renewed for Fallout season 2, which is set to finally premiere on December 17.
Fallout was also renewed for season 3 in May 2025.
Now, ahead of season 2, Fallout season 1 will be available to stream for free on Samsung TV Plus starting today, December 3 through December 25, per Variety. Samsung has also partnered with Amazon, Bethesda Softworks, and Xbox to allow fans to stream Fallout season 2 for free on Samsung TV Plus starting on December 17.
Fallout season 1 follows a young woman named Lucy (Ella Purnell) who leaves her home in Vault 33 to venture into the dangerous wasteland of a devastated Los Angeles to find her father (Kyle MacLachlan) and during her quest, she crosses paths with Maximus (Aaron Moten), a Brotherhood of Steel squire, and Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), a famed ghoul bounty hunter.
In Fallout season 2, Lucy accompanies Cooper to New Vegas in hopes of discovering the truth about her father and Vault-Tec, while Maximus prepares for an impending war.
Fallout's cast also includes Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Sarita Choudhury, Leslie Uggams, Johnny Pemberton, Zach Cherry, and Frances Turner. Season 2's new cast members include Justin Theroux as Mr. House and Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani in undisclosed roles.
Fallout season 1 received positive reviews for capturing the spirit of the games and delivering a post-apocalyptic adventure that resonates with both newcomers and devoted fans, resulting in 93% Rotten Tomatoes scores from both critics and audiences. The first season earned three Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for Walton Goggins.
Fallout season 1 was also a giant viewership success on Prime Video, as it was the platform's second-most watched title behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 1.
Walton Goggins' Ghoul will also be featured in Fallout 76: Burning Springs. Prime Video executive Emily Aldis and Fallout game director Todd Howard shared the following statements:
