Released back in 2023, the Disney+ and Hulu hit The Artful Dodger proved so popular with audiences and critics that it dodged cancellation and earned a second season renewal. However, since the renewal, news about the upcoming second season has been few and far between, with fans feeding on scraps of information about the return of their favorite Aussie series.

Thankfully, we now have the biggest update yet, with it confirmed that The Artful Dodger Season 2 will debut on February 10, 2026, with all episodes dropping at once. Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster's titular Dodger will be back to face a much tougher challenge in the second season alongside Fagin, played by Harry Potter franchise star David Thewlis, as well as Maia Mitchell's Lady Belle Fox and other favorite faces. The trio will be joined by a selection of new names in the second season, including Luke Bracey as Inspector Henry Boxer, Jeremy Sims as Uncle Dickie, and Zac Burgess as Phineas Golden. A synopsis for The Artful Dodger Season 2 reads:

"Jack’s back! The Artful Dodger returns, and he’s in deep trouble. He’s got an appointment with the noose, he’s being hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman, and if he sees the woman he loves, Lady Belle, he’ll be hanged. Meanwhile, Lady Belle is determined to forge her future in medicine, defying expectation and stepping into danger, driven by ambition and a love already hanging in the balance. With Boxer competing with Jack for Belle’s affection, the crafty Fagin drags Dodger into their most dangerous heist yet, and a killer is on the loose. Get ready for an explosive season of new characters and locations with more thrills, humour, heart, invention and deception than ever."

In a statement about Season 2, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, Kylie Watson-Wheeler, said:

"We’re excited our fan-favourite Aussie Original is back for a second season. It has more romance, adventure and razor-sharp wit, plus several new faces. The show’s return is a testament to its local and international success and the high-calibre talent involved, both in front and behind the camera. We’re immensely proud to be bringing quality Australian storytelling to the world stage and to have further elevated the production with intricate new costuming and sets that take audiences even deeper into the adrenaline-pumping world of The Artful Dodger."

'The Artful Dodger' Season 1 Was a Huge Hit

Thanks to a perfectly cast central ensemble and the style of directors Jeffrey Walker, Gracie Otto, and Corrie Chen — among other factors — The Artful Dodger's first season was a huge hit. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the series boasts a near-perfect critics' score of 92% and an even better 96% from audiences. In Maggie Lovitt's review of Season 1 for Collider, she awarded the series a 'B+' rating and wrote, "The Artful Dodger is a must-watch for anyone who loves Dickens, historical dramas, and has a stomach for the woefully horrific surgical practices of yesteryear."

The Artful Dodger will return for Season 2 on February 10, 2026. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
