Puka Nacua has made a lot of spectacular catches in his young career thus far, but the one he hauled in on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers was perhaps his greatest. In fact, Sean McVay thinks it’s one of the best catches ever.
It really was that good.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt came on a deep shot down the left sideline where Nacua stuck up his arm, backhanded the ball with one hand and somehow held on while going to the ground, setting up Kyren Williams’ go-ahead touchdown. The fact that he caught it with his inside hand, while the defender was also trying to knock it away, made it all the more impressive. And it was raining.
McVay raved about it on the “Coach McVay Show” this week.
“Oh my god. That’s one of the greatest catches I’ve ever seen,” he said. “It was unbelievable. What a critical play. He’s a freakin’ stud with what he does with and without the football. I just can’t say enough about the competitive character of this group. Just willing yourself. Unreal.”

It’s hard not to put Nacua’s above the rest, and it might just be the best catch of the year so far.
